Saksham Scholarship Scheme for Differently Abled Students (Degree) for Technical Education 2024

Saksham is a MHRD Scheme being implemented by AICTE and aims at providing encouragement and support to specially abled children to pursue Technical Education. Candidates with at least 40% disability who are pursuing technical degree course are eligible to avail scholarship under this scheme. Online application forms will be made available for this scheme on AICTE website. Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate should be admitted to 1st year degree course in any of the AICTE approved Institution through centralized admission process of the State/ Central Government.
  • The student should have disability of not less than 40% and family income not more than 8 lakh per annum during the preceding financial year (in case of married girl, the income of parents/ in-laws, whichever is higher will be considered).

How to apply?

  • The application form for Saksham Scholarship Scheme for Differently Abled Students (Degree) will be made available on the official AICTE website.
  • Candidates first have to register themselves after which they will be able to obtain and fill the application form.
  • In the application form, the candidates will have to provide their basic personal and academic details.
  • Important documents in scanned format should be uploaded in the application form as well.
  • After filling the application form, completely and correctly, the candidate should submit it online.

Important Documents

Scanned copies of the following documents should be uploaded into the application form:

  • Photograph & signature of the candidates
  • Mark sheet of standard 10th/ 12th/ others as applicable
  • Annual family income certificate for the current financial year issued by Tahsildar or higher officer
  • Admission letter to degree course
  • Tuition fee receipt, showing clearly and separately the amount of tuition fee paid
  • Bank passbook showing name of the student, account number, IFSC code and photograph pasted at appropriate place duly signed by Manager with rubber stamp of Bank affixed
  • Certificate issued by the Director/ Principal/ Head of the institute
  • Aadhaar card
  • SC/ ST/ OBC Certificate, if applicable
  • Declaration by parents duly signed stating that the information provided by their child is correct and will refund Scholarship amount, if found false at any stage

Selection Procedure

Selection of candidate will be made on the basis of merit in qualifying exam to pursue the technical degree course in any of the AICTE approved institution.

Rate of scholarship

Tuition fee of Rs. 30000/- or at actual, whichever is less and Rs. 2000/- per month for 10 months as incidentals each year will be awarded.
