Pre-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities 2024

The pre-matric scholarship for students with disabilities will be provided by the department of empowerment of persons with disabilities, Ministry of social justice and empowerment, government of India. Those students who are studying in class 9th and 10th can apply for this scholarship. In order to apply for this scholarship, the candidate should have disabilities of at least 40%. Plus, the annual income of the parents should not be more than 2.5 lakh. Eligibility Criteria for Pre-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

The following are the eligibility criteria for getting this scholarship.

  • The scholarship will be awarded to the citizen of India only.
  • Scholarships are available to students with disabilities with 40% and above.
  • Not more than two children with disabilities of the same parents will be entitled to receive benefits of the scheme.
  • The annual income of the parents from all sources should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000/-
  • Aspirants should be a regular, full time student studying in class IX or X in a government school or in a school recognized by Govt.

How to apply?

The application form for Pre-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities will release in online mode through the official website of the National Scholarship Portal i.e. www.scholarships.gov.in. In the application form, candidates have to provide their complete details accurately. No application form will be accepted after the last date.

Important Documents

In the application form, aspirants need to upload the scanned images of the following documents.

  • Photograph of the candidate.
  • Proof of age
  • Disability certificate
  • Income certificate of the parent
  • Tuition fees receipt
  • Last academic qualification certificate, etc.

Selection Process

The following factor will be taken into consideration at the time of merit list creation.

  • Fulfilment of eligibility conditions as given in the scheme.
  • Recommendation of the state education department.
  • No. of slots available to the state.
  • Merit of the candidate in terms of percentage of marks

Rate/ Amount of Scholarship

The following amounts will be awarded to the students under this scholarship.

Maintenance Allowance
