Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for RPF/ RPSF 2024

Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for RPF/ RPSF provided to every year with an aim to encourage higher technical and professional education for the dependent wards of Ex/Serving RPF/RPSF personnel and widows (below the Rank of Gazetted officer). This scholarship covers a lot of professional courses including BE, B.Tech, BDS, MBBS, BEd, BBS, BCA, MCA B. Pharma, etc. Interested candidates who are looking to apply need to fill and submit the application form in online mode. In this article, we are going to provide all the necessary details related to the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for RPF/ RPSF.

Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for RPF/ RPSF Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates must have passed the Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) examination with at least 60% marks.
  • The Minimum Education Qualification is different for various courses as given below.
    • MBBS including all Medical Courses of Graduation level – 12th class pass
    • B.E., B.Tech: 12th or diploma (in case of lateral entry)
    • BBA, BCA, B.Sc. (Ag) etc.: 12th class
    • MBA, B.Ed., LLB, MCA: Graduation
    • BALLB/ BBA LLB (5 years Integrated course only): 12th class

How to apply?

The application form for Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for RPF/ RPSF will release in online mode only. Those interested candidates who want to apply may access the application form through the National Scholarship portal i.e. www.scholarships.gov.in. All the details in the application form must be accurate.

Order of preference

The different categories of students in order of their preference are as follows.

  • 1st category: Wards/widows of ex-RPF/RPSF personnel who died in harness due to causes attributed to encounter with terrorists or with criminals while protecting Railway Property, Passengers and Passenger Area or those who die during election work.
  • 2nd category: Wards/Widows of ex-RPF/RPSF personnel who died while in service.
  • 3rd category: Wards of ex-RPF/ RPSF (retired) personnel.
  • 4th category: Wards of serving RPF/RPSF personnel

Amount of Scholarship

The amount of scholarship for girls and boys applicants are as follows.

  • For boys candidates: Rs. 2000/- per month
  • For girls candidates: Rs. 2250/- per month

Documents Required

The following documents are required in order to get this scholarship.

  • Service Certificate issued by respective offices of the serving personnel for category IV
  • A copy of PPO/Discharge certificate/book for Categories I, II and III
  • Applicants are required to upload duly attested scanned copy of the mark-sheet/Grade card of MEQ i.e. 10+2/ Diploma/Graduation (as applicable)
