Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities 2024

Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities are provided with an objective to encourage and support the students belonging to economically weaker sections of the minority community in their studies. As the name itself suggests this scholarship is provided to the students who have passed the class 10th or equivalent exam. Students from minority communities i.e. Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jain, and Zoroastrians (Parsis) can apply for this scholarship. Eligibility Criteria for Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities

  • Only those candidates can apply for this scholarship who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination.
  • The annual income of the parents for all the sources should not exceed 2 lakh per annum.

How to apply?

Interested candidates who want to apply for this scholarship program will be able to access the application form through the National Scholarship Portal i.e. www.schoarships.gov.in. The official link to the application form will also be made available on the official website of the Ministry of Minority Affair, i.e. www.minorityaffairs.gov.in.

Important Documents

The following documents are required to be uploaded on the application form.

  • Student Photo
  • Income Certificate of Parent/Guardian
  • Community Certificate from the applicant who has attained 18 years of age
  • self-attested Mark Sheet
  • Bank Account Number of the Student along with the IFSC Code
  • Aadhaar number of the student (if Aadhaar is not available then copies of bank passbook and Aadhaar enrolment ID)

Process of Selection

  • The candidates will be selected on the basis of their parent’s annual income.
  • The academic performance of the candidate also plays its role in the selection.
  • In case the annual income and merit are the same then candidates will be selected based on “Date of birth”. The older candidate will be preferred.

Rate/ Amount of Scholarships

The amount of money that a student can receive through this scholarship is given below.

Rate of Scholarship Admission + Tuition Fee

  • Admission and tuition fee Class XI & XII: Rs. 7,000/- per annum subject to actuals (both Hosteller & Day Scholar)
  • Admission and course/tuition fee for technical and vocational courses of XI and XII level (Courses of one or more year of duration):  Rs. 10,000/- per annum subject to actuals (both Hosteller & Day Scholar)
  • Admission and tuition fee for UG & PG level: Rs. 3,000/- per  annum subject to actuals (both Hosteller & Day Scholar)

Maintenance Allowance

  • For Class XI & XII including Tech. & Voc. Course: Rs. 380/- per month for Hosteller & Rs. 230/- per month for Day Scholar
  • For Courses other than Tech. & Prof. courses at UG & PG level: Rs. 570/- per month for Hosteller & Rs. 300/- per month for Day Scholar
  • For M. Phil & Ph.D.:  Rs. 1,200/- per month for Hosteller & Rs. 550/- per month for Day Scholar
