UGC will release the official notification for the PG Scholarship for University Rank Holders (1st and 2nd rank holders). The aim of this scholarship is to reward meritorious candidates with outstanding performance at the undergraduate level for pursuing postgraduate studies. Another aim of this scholarship is to build up academic excellence at the postgraduate level across the colleges and universities in the country. The application for this scholarship will release in online mode only. PG Scholarship for University Rank Holders (1st and 2nd Rank Holders) Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria in order to apply.

  • The age of a candidate at the time of taking the admission to PG degree course should be less than 30 years.
  • Aspirants must be 1st or 2nd rank holders at undergraduate level and admitted in any Postgraduate Course at a recognized university.
  • Applicants must have secured at least 60% marks at the undergraduate level.
  • The scheme is applicable to such students who have taken admission in regular, full-time Master’s Degree course in any recognized university, deemed university, private university, autonomous college or a post graduate college.
  • The distance mode of education will not be considered for getting this scholarship.

How to apply?

The application form for PG Scholarship for University Rank Holders (1st and 2nd holders) will release in online mode only. Those who want to apply need to submit the application form through the official website of the UGC. Apart from the details, candidates also need to upload the scanned images of their documents in the application form.

Important Documents

The following document needs to be submitted by the students in order to get scholarship.

  • Attested copy of university undergraduate-degree.
  • Matriculation certificate.
  • A verification certificate by the institute where students have taken admission to Ist Year P.G. Course.
  • Prescribed format of a provisional Rank certificate from the university / autonomous college.

Documents to be submitted by the concerned institute/ university to the UGC

  • Progress Report to be submitted after the first year of the PG course. Mentioning the percentage of marks obtained by the candidates.
  • Statement giving the names of the students selected for the scholarship along with their receipt of scholarship amount.
  • Utilization certificate.
