To help the students financially in pursuing higher degrees from recognized college/ university, the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College and University Students 2024 has been introduced. A student will be eligible for the scholarship for a total duration not exceeding 5 years. The scholarship will be renewed on yearly basis up to postgraduate level in the same stream. Eligibility Criteria

• Students who are above 80th percentile of successful candidates in the relevant stream from recognized board in Class XII or equivalent and pursuing regular courses (not correspondence or distance mode) in a recognized college are eligible.
• The family income ceiling is Rs. 8 lakh per annum for all categories. Income certificate would be required for the fresh applicants only.

Application Process

• Candidates will be able to apply for this scholarship by visiting the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) www.scholarships.gov.in.
• Application form can be filled by providing the basic personal, academic, contact and other details of the candidates.
• Important documents in scanned format should be uploaded into the application form as well.
• Details of bank account will also be asked in the application form.
• The application form, duly and correctly filled, can then be submitted online by the candidates.

Selection Procedure

• Merit list as per the state allocated quota would be generated from the verified applications.
• The list will be prepared as per the merit of the candidates in the qualifying examination.
• Candidates will then be selected for awarding the scholarship as per their names in the merit list.

Rate of scholarship

The rate of scholarship is Rs. 10000/- per annum at graduation level for first three years of college and university courses and Rs. 20000/- per annum at post graduation level. Students pursuing professional courses, in case, where the duration of course is five years (integrated course) would get Rs. 20000/- per annum in the 4th and 5th year. However, students pursuing technical courses such as B.Tech, BE, etc would get scholarship up to graduation level.
