Kendriya Vidyalaya AdmissionClass 1 online applications are invited for admission to Kendriya Vidyalayas all over the country from February 28, 2022 10:00IST. Different criteria are there for enrolling candidates to different classes. Application form for admission to class I are released online while for other classes, the application process is carried out through offline mode. It is advised to make sure that only eligible candidates apply for admission.  This article provides complete details related to KVS Admission 2022 such as important dates, eligibility criteria, selection process, etc.

Latest News: The deadline for KV class 1 registration has been extended till 11th April 2022.

KVS class 1 online registration process has been started from 28th February 2022. Full admission schedule has been released by KV Sanghthan on 24th February 2022.

KVS 2022 Admission Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for candidates seeking admission in different grades in Kendriya Vidyalaya are given below.

Note: The maximum age limit can be relaxed by two years in case of Differently abled children by the Principal

KV Admission Application Form 2022

For class I

  • Online registration form for class 1 is available on official website of KVS Sangathan www.kvsangathan.nic.in.
  • In the form, the candidates’ basic details such as name, date of birth, gender, email address, phone number will be asked.
  • After providing all the details are entered in this form it can be submitted online.
  • An OTP will be sent on the registered phone number for verification, after which the candidates can provide rest details into the form.
  • Photograph and birth certificate of the candidate in scanned format should be uploaded in the application form.
  • Once all the details are entered correctly, the application form can be submitted.
  • An application number will be generated after submission of the form that should be noted down for future reference.

For class II onwards

  • Application form for admission to class II onwards will be made available in principal’s office in any Kendriya Vidyalaya.
  • In the application form, basic personal details of the candidates such as name, date of birth, gender, etc will be asked.
  • Academic details related to previous class such as school name, subjects studied, marks obtained, etc might also be asked.
  • Application form, filled in every manner, can be submitted back at the Principal’s office along with the copies of important documents.
  • A copy of the application form should also be kept by the candidates/ parents for future reference.

Important Documents

The following documents are to be submitted to complete the application process:

  • For Class I, certificate of proof of age in the form of a birth certificate issued by the authority competent to register births (Notified Area Council/ Municipality/ Municipal Corporation)
  • For other classes, transfer certificate issued by a recognized school for proof of age (admissions up to class VIII may be granted without any school transfer certificate provided the child’s birth certificate has been issued by a Govt. body)
  • For grandchildren of Hon’ble Member of Parliament and PSU employees a proof of relationship of either of the child’s parents with the Hon’ble Member of Parliament or PSU employees
  • For grandchildren of KVS employee a proof of relationship of either of the child’s parent with the KVS employee (serving or retired)
  • A certificate that the child belongs to the SC/ ST/ EWS/ OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/ BPL if applicable, issued by the competent authority (certificate in respect of either of the parents may be accepted initially if this certificate is not available for the child. However, the certificate in respect of the child has to be submitted within a period of 03 months from the date of admission.)
  • A certificate from the civil surgeon/ rehabilitation center or any other competent authority certifying the child to be handicapped, wherever applicable (in case, where the handicap of the child can be visually seen by the Principal, the child may be accepted as handicapped even without a certificate)
  • A service certificate showing the number of transfers during the preceding 7 years duly signed and stamped by the head of office bearing the name, designation and other relevant particulars in block letters
  • A certificate of retirement for uniformed Defence employees
  • Proof of Residence

Selection List Publication

  • A list of the candidates who have registered successfully for admission will be prepared by the authority.
  • Candidates/ parents will be able to see this list from the official website and notice board at all KVs.
  • Process of admission of the registered candidates will be carried out as per their names in the selection list.

KVS Admission 2022 Process

For class I

Every Kendriya Vidyalaya will constitute a committee for the purpose of monitoring a system of Draw of Lots to be held for admission in Class I.

For class II to VIII

Admission in class II to VIII will be granted based on Priority category system. If applications are more than the number of seats, lottery system will be followed

For class IX

For admission to Class IX, an admission test shall be conducted and a merit list will be prepared. Candidates must secure 33% marks in aggregate (25% for SC/ ST// PH) to qualify. Check the pattern of exam below:

For class XI

Admission in different streams viz Science, Commerce, Humanities of Class XI in KVs for KV students will be based on aggregate marks scored in class X exams as under:

  1. Science Stream: A minimum of 60% Marks in aggregate of all subjects.
  2. Commerce Stream: A minimum of 55% Marks in aggregate of all subjects.
  3. Humanities Stream: All students of KV if declared successful in class X exam

For class X and XII

Admissions to class X & XII, other than KV students, will be entertained subject to availability of vacancies. Such admissions to class X and XII will be considered by the Deputy Commissioner of the Region concerned subject to the following conditions:

  1. The child has been in the same course of studies in a CBSE-affiliated school.
  2. The child must have obtained not less than 55% marks in aggregate in class IX (for class X) or XI (for class XII).
  3. The combinations of subjects opted by the student are available in Kendriya Vidyalaya.

FAQs

Can a non-KV student apply for admission to class XI in KV?

If seats remain vacant in class XI after admitting the children of KV/ neighboring KVs then the admissions to non-KV children may be granted.

What is the cost of KV registration form?

Registration forms shall be made available by the Principal free of cost.

What are the eligibility criteria for admission to class XI and XII?

  • Class XI: Candidates who clear their 10th board exam in the year 2022 are eligible to apply. There is no age limit prescribed for this.
  • Class XII: Those who have passed their class 11th exam and have studied continuous without break after class 11 are eligible.

Can other board students apply for KVS admission 2022?

The students of State Boards/ ICSE/ NIOS can be considered for admission in class XI if vacancies exist.

Is it possible to provide choice for Kendriya Vidyalaya for admission?

Candidates/ parents can provide up to three choices for Kendriya Vidyalaya at the time of filling the application form.
