Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan manages the admission process of all Kendriya Vidyalaya across the country. The admission to different classes will be provided based on various criteria and factors.  The application form for class 1 admission will release in online mode. On the other hand, the application form for the rest of the classes will release offline through the Principal’s office of the KV. It is expected that the official notification of class 1 admission will release in the month of February 2024. KVS 2024 Eligibility Criteria

It’s a duty of the candidate to make sure that he/she meets the following eligibility criteria before filling the application form.

Age Limit

The age limits are different for admission into various classes. You should also note that the age limit will be calculated as of 31st March 2024.

KV 2024 Application Form

The application process is different for class 1st admission and admission to the rest of the classes. Given below are the details related to the application process.

For Class 1st Admission

The application process of class 1st admission will take place in online mode only. Those interested parents who want to apply on behalf of their wards may access the application form by visiting the official website.

• To start the application process, candidates have register on behalf of their children on the official website.
• At the time of registration process, applicants need to enter basic details like name, phone number, email address, phone number, etc.
• After the registration process gets over, applicants will receive an OTP on their registered mobile number.
• The main application form will be available once the registration process gets completed.
• In the main application form, applicants have to enter all the necessary educational, personal, and contact details.
• In addition to this, aspirants need to upload the scanned images of candidate’s photograph and birth certificate in the application form.
• Parents must verify each and every detail before submitting the application form.
• Please note that the application number will be generated once the application form submission process gets over.
• It is recommended to keep the application number as it might be required for future requirements.

For class 2nd onwards

• The application form for class 2nd admission can be obtained from the principal’s office at any kendriya vidyalaya.
• After accessing the application form, aspirants/ parents need to fill all the required academic, personal, and contact details.
• The duly filled application form must be submitted along with all the necessary documents at the same Kendriya Vidyalaya.
• It is recommended to keep a copy of the application form submitted for future references

The parents or candidates must ensure that they enclose the following documents along with the application form at the Kendriya Vidyalaya.

• Proof of age in the form of a birth certificate issued by the authority competent to register births
• A proof of relationship for grandchildren of Hon’ble Member of Parliament, PSU employees and KVS employee.
• A service certificate showing the number of transfers during the preceding 7 years
• Certificate of retirement for uniformed Defence employees
• Proof of residence
• Category certificate for SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL/ EWS/ BPL
• Disability certificate from a civil surgeon/rehabilitation centre or any other competent authority

Result and Selection List

• After the application form submission process gets over, the authorities will release the list of the candidates selected for admission.
• The list of candidates selected for admission will be uploaded online in official website.
• In addition to online, the list of the candidates selected will also be made available on the notice board of all Kendriya Vidyalaya.
• Those candidates who will get shortlisted after the release of selection list will be invited to participate in the further rounds of the selection process.

KV 2024 Admission Process

The admission to different classes of Kendriya Vidyalaya is offered on different basis. Given below are the criteria for admission into various classes.

•  1st Class: The selection of candidates will be based on the priority category system. For those seats who are under RTE provision, the selection of candidates will take place by drawing of lots.
• 2nd Class to 8th Class: The selection of candidates will be based on the priority category system. The lottery system will be followed in case the number of applications is more than the seats available.
• 9th Class: The applicants will be selected on the basis of their performance in the admission test conducted by the KVS. Authorities will access the candidate’s knowledge in subjects of English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science.
• 10th Class: Those candidates who have a minimum of 55% marks in the 9th standard can apply for admission in case of any vacancy.
• 11th Class: Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the board’s examination. For science stream at least 60% in aggregate of all subjects, 55% for commerce stream, passing marks for humanities are required.
• 12th Class: Aspirants with a minimum of 55% in class 11th can apply for admission in case there is any vacancy available.

Answer: Yes, there is a provision for admission to candidates who belongs to some special categories. Please note that admission to such candidates will be over the strength of the class as well.

Question – 2: Can I fill and submit the application form for admission into class 5th in online mode?

Answer: No, the application form for class 2nd onwards will be made available in offline mode only.

Question – 3: Will there be an entrance exam for admission to class 1st in Kendriya Vidyalaya?

Answer: No, there will not be any entrance exam for admission to class 1st. The admission will be offered based on the priority category system.
