TNTET 2022: Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Date

TNTETTeachers Recruitment Board (TRB) will release the official notification for Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TNTET). The aim of this exam to shortlist candidates who are looking to work as Primary or Upper primary teachers in the state of Tamil Nadu. Aspiring candidates who want to appear in this exam must fill the online application form. It is expected that the application process will begin in the month of February 2022. It is advised that candidates must check the eligibility criteria for filling the application form. In this post, complete details related to the TNTET 2022 are provided.

TNTET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Those interested candidates who want to apply must make sure that they are eligible. The eligibility criteria for TNTET 2022 are explained below.

Age Limit

  • The age of a candidate should be 18 to 40 years.

Educational Qualification (class 1st to 5th)

  • 10+2 or equivalent passed with a minimum of 50% marks along with a 2-years diploma in elementary education. Those who are appearing in the final year exam of a 2 years diploma in elementary education are also eligible. Or
  • 10+2 or equivalent passed with a minimum of 45% marks along with a 2-years diploma in elementary education in accordance with NCTE. Those who are appearing in the final year exam of a 2 year diploma in elementary education are also eligible. Or
  • Higher secondary (10+2) or equivalent with at least 50% marks along with 4-years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). Candidates who are in the final year of 4-years Bachelor in Elementary Education are eligible. Or
  • 10+2 or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- years Diploma in Education (Special Education). Or
  • Candidates must have completed graduation or appearing in the final year of 2 years diploma in elementary education. Or
  • Aspirants must have completed graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)

Educational Qualification (class 6th to 8th)

  • Aspirants must have completed graduation along with 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education. Those who are going to appear in the final year examination of 2 Diploma in Elementary education are also available. Or
  • Candidates should have passed graduation with at least 50% marks. Aspirants should also have Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). Or
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations. Or
  • 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks along with 4 years B.A/ B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed./ B.Sc.Ed. degree. Or
  • Candidates should have completed Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of B.Ed. (Special Education). Or
  • Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET.

TNTET Application Form 2022

Eligible candidates who are looking to apply need to visit the official website in order to apply. Application forms will be made available in online mode only. Complete details related to the TNTET 2022 application process are given below.

  • First of all, candidates are required to register on the official website by providing some of their basic details like name, email address, phone number, etc.
  • After registration, aspirants will be able to login using the credentials generated at the time of registration.
  • Once logged in, candidates will be able to access the main application form.
  • Aspirants have to provide their complete educational, personal, and contact details in the main application form.
  • The details entered in the application form must be accurate. Otherwise, the application form can get rejected.
  • Along with the details, candidates are also required to upload scanned images of their passport size photograph and signature.
  • While submitting the application form, aspirants have to pay the required application fees.
  • It is recommended that candidates should take a printout of the application form submitted and fee receipt.

Application Fee

The application fees to be paid are different for candidates from various categories as given below.

  • SC, SCA, ST and Person with Disability Candidates: Rs. 250/-
  • All other candidates: Rs. 500/-

Mode of payment: Application fees should be paid through the online payment gateway using credit card/ debit card/ net banking.

Admit Card

  • The admit cards will release only for those candidates who will fill and submit the application form before the last date.
  • In order to download an admit card, candidates have to visit the official website and provide their registration details.
  • Information related to the examination date, time, and venue will be mentioned on the admit card.
  • It is mandatory for all candidates to carry a printout of the downloaded admit card. Along with the admit card, aspirants have to carry a hard copy of one photo ID proof.

TNTET 2022 Exam Pattern

The pattern of TNTET 2022 examination is given below.

  • Mode of examination: Online (Computer-based test)
  • Type of questions: Objective type multiple-choice questions.
  • Number of questions: 150 questions
  • Duration of examination: 2 hours and 30 minutes
  • Maximum Marks: 150 marks
  • Marking Scheme: Each question will carry 1 mark

Paper – I

  • Child Development and Pedagogy (Relevant to Age Group 6 to 11): Part A – Child Development (Physical and Cognitive Development, Social and Emotional Development, Physical & Intellectual Development, Social and Emotional Development, Moral Development), Part B – Learning (Learning, Types, levels and approaches to Learning, Concepts and constructs, Factors Contributing to Learning, Constructivist Approach to Learning, Learning and Knowledge
  • Tamil: Language comprehension, speaking, reading, vocabulary, language functions.
  • English: Language comprehension, speaking, reading, vocabulary, language functions.
  • Mathematics: Geometry, Number system, Arithmetic, Algebra
  • Environmental Studies and Science: Family and Friends, Food, Shelter, Water, Travel, Plants

Paper – II

  • Child Development and Pedagogy (Relevant to Age Group 11 – 14): Nature of Educational Psychology, Human Growth and Development, Cognitive Development, Social, Emotional and Moral Development, Learning, Intelligence and Creativity, Motivation and Group Dynamics, Personality and Assessment, Mental Health and Hygiene, Guidance and Counselling
  • Tamil: Language comprehension, reading, speaking, vocabulary, Language functions.
  • English: Language comprehension, reading, speaking, vocabulary, Language functions.
  • Mathematics: Algebra, Life science, Geometry, Practical geometry, Measurements, Number system

Answer Keys

  • Candidates will be able to check the answer keys once the written exam process gets completed.
  • With the help of answer keys, candidates will be able to get a rough idea about the marks they are going to score.
  • In case any candidate is not satisfied with the answer keys then he/she can challenge the same.
  • A team of experts will then analyze the challenge submitted by students and then release the final answer keys. The result will be prepared on the basis of final answer keys.

Result

  • Teachers recruitment board (TRB) will declare the TNTET result after the final assessment of both the papers i.e. Paper I and Paper II.
  • The result will be published online through the official website of the board.
  • To check the result, candidates have to provide their user ID and Password.
  • It is compulsory for a candidate to score more than qualifying marks in order to clear the TNTET examination.
  • The qualifying marks are different for candidates from various categories as given below.
    • Unreserved categories: 60%
    • BC, BC (M), MBC/ DNC, SC, SC (A), ST and Person with Disability: 55%
  • The TNTET Score Card 2022 will carry information about the subject-wise and total marks secured by candidates in the examination.

Question – 1: When will the Certificate of TNTET 2022 examination be available?

Answer: The teacher’s recruitment board will publish the certificates three months after the examination. Candidates will be able to download the same by logging in through the official website.

Question – 2: In which cities the TNTET examination will take place?
