Pondicherry ITI Admission 2022 Eligibility Criteria

It is very important for all candidates to make sure that they are eligible before filling the application form. The eligibility criteria of Pondicherry ITI Admission 2022 are provided below.

Age Limit

• The age of a candidate should be more than 14 years as of 1st August 2022
• Those who wish to apply for the trade of Mechanic (Motor Vehicle) should have completed 17 years of age as of 1st August, 2022.
• No upper age limit for a candidate seeking admission under craftsmen training scheme.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification requirements are different for various trades as given below.

• Mason (Building Construction), Sewing Technology, Welder, Wireman 

• • • Candidates must have passed class 8th or equivalent from a recognized school/ board of education.
    • All candidates who will apply for these trades need to write a Common Admission Test and the final admission for these Trades is based on the merit list.

• For all other trades

• • Aspirants must have passed class 10th examination or equivalent from a recognized school/ board of education.

Note: Those candidates who are waiting for their class 10th result can also apply. However, such candidates have to produce their class 10th mark sheet within the stipulated time.

Physical Fitness

• An applicant must neither be suffering from any infectious disease nor show symptoms of any pandemic disease. Further, the applicant should be free from push-pull diseases.
• It is mandatory for all candidates to produce Up-dated Health Record/Medical Fitness Certificate at the time of admission.
• PwD candidates will get a trade suitable to their disability and based on the Medical Certificate issued by a Government Medical Practitioner.
• It is compulsory for PwD candidates to upload their photograph of size 125 x 75 mm, clearly showing the disability, with the Medical Certificate issued by a Government Medical Practitioner.

Pondicherry ITI Application Form 2022

The application process of Pondicherry ITI Admission 2022 will take place in online mode only. Please note that there is a single application form for government and private institutes. The process of application form submission is explained below.

• First of all, aspirants have to register by providing their basic information like mobile number and email address.
• Once registered, candidates are required to sign-in by providing some of their login details.
• After signing in, aspirants have to fill details in the main application form. In the application form, candidates are required to provide their complete educational, personal, and contact details.
• The details entered in the application form must be accurate. Otherwise, the application form can get rejected.
• Apart from the details, candidates are also required to upload scanned images of their relevant documents.
• It is also compulsory for all candidates to pay the necessary application fee along with the application form.
• Candidates are advised to take a printout of the application form submitted and fee payment receipt.

Pondicherry ITI Admission 2022 Selection process 

• The selection team will organize a common screening test for candidates who are seeking admission for trades where the minimum educational qualification is 8th standard. Such trades are Sewing Technology, Wireman, Welder or Mason (Building Construction). Details of the common screening test will be sent to candidates by SMS.
• Authorities will provide admission on the basis of class 10th merit list for those candidates who are looking for admission to trades where the minimum qualification is 10th Standard or above, separate merit list for each ITI will be prepared based on their 10th Standard Marks.

Pondicherry ITI Admission 2022 Merit List

• The merit list for admission will be prepared and uploaded on the official website by the authority.
• Those candidates who will get their names on the merit list will be invited to take part in the counselling process.
• Based on their positions in the merit list, candidates will also get their ranks.
• In case two or more candidates have equal marks then the selection of candidates will be done in the following manner.
  • Marks in Mathematics will be taken to determine the merit.
  • Marks in Science will be considered to determine the merit.
  • Date of Birth will be the final factor, and the merit is based on seniority.

Counselling

• Only those candidates will be invited to take part in the counselling process who will get their names in the counselling process.
• During the counselling process, candidates will be asked to provide the choice of the institute in which they want to study.
• The allotment of seats will take place based on candidate’s rank on the merit list.
• After getting provisional admission order, candidates have to submit the following applicable originals to the Office of the Principal of the ITI allotted to them before the last date
  • Class 10th  Standard Original Mark Sheet or 8th Standard Pass certificate issued by
  • the School.
  • Original Transfer Certificate.
  • Original Residence Certificate.
  • Original Community Certificate.
  • Permanent Integrated Certificate.
  • Physically handicapped certificate mentioning 40% or above disability.
  • Freedom Fighters Certificate issued by the Freedom Fighters Cell.
  • Ex-Service man/woman Certificate.

  • Copy of Aadhaar registered in Puducherry State.
  • Copy of Bank pass-book first page.

Note: 

• The original documents submitted at the ITI during admission will be returned to the Trainees only after completion/discontinuation of the Training. Hence, sufficient number of copies/ Xerox of the originals may please be taken before submitting the originals at ITI.
