The Staff Selection Committee will conduct recruitment test SSC JHT 2024 to select the candidates for the post of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator and Hindi Pradhyapak Examination. The interested and eligible candidates can apply for the exam form the month of October 2024. The exam will be conducted in two phase- Paper 1 and Paper 2. SSC JHT 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for SSC JHT 2024 are mentioned below:

Age limit:

The maximum age of the candidates should not exceed more than 30 years as on 1st January 2023. Relaxation in the age limit will be given as per the following:

Defence Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof (SC/ ST) 8 years

Nationality:

A candidate must either be:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Educational criteria:

The following qualifications are required to be eligible:

For post codes ‘A’ to ‘D’ and ‘E’ (Senior Hindi Translator in various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/ Offices):

  • Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination OR
  • Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination OR
  • Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination OR
  • Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination OR
  • Master’s Degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject AND
  • Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years’ experience (three years for post code E) of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking

For post code ‘F’ (Junior Translator/ Junior Hindi Translator in subordinate offices who have not yet adopted Model RRs of DoP&T for JT/JHT):

  • Master’s in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with Hindi and English as main subjects (which includes the term compulsory and elective) in all the three years of Graduation pass course

For post code ‘G’ (Hindi Pradhyapak in Central Hindi Training Institute)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subject at degree level either as compulsory or optional plus Master’s degree in any subject plus Bachelor of Education OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in any subject plus Master’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level either as compulsory or optional plus Bachelor of Education
  • Two years experience of teaching Hindi at Senior Secondary level under Central or State Governments or recognized educational Institution is also desirable.

SSC JHT 2024 Application Form

Candidates can apply for SSC JHT 2024 online. The application form will be released on the official website ssc.nic.in. The candidates will first have to fill the registration form (part I) and then rest details in the application form (part II).

  • In the one-time registration form, the candidates will have to provide details such as name, date of birth, email address, phone number, Aadhaar card number, etc.
  • The candidates will also have to upload photograph, signature, disability certificate, etc into the form.
  • Once these details are entered, the candidates can submit the registration form. OTPs will be sent on registered mobile number and email id.
  • The candidates will then have to enter the respective OTPs to complete the process.
  • After this process is completed, the candidates will have to complete the rest process of application filling within 7 days.
  • Using registered email id and password, the candidates can login to provide rest of the details.
  • Rest of the details includes selection of exam center, ex-serviceman details, declaration and submission of application fee.

Application fee:

  • The application fee will be Rs. 100/- except women, SC, ST and PWD candidates who are exempted from paying the application fee.
  • Fee payment can be done via SBI Challan/ SBI net banking or by using credit card/ debit card.

The exam pattern for SSC JHT 2024 is given below:

SSC JHT 2024 Syllabus

The syllabus for both papers is given below:

  • Paper 1: The paper will contain questions to test the candidates’ understanding of the languages and literature, correct use of words, phrases and idioms and ability to write the languages correctly, precisely and effectively.
  • Paper 2: This paper will contain two passages for translation- one passage for translation from Hindi to English and one passage for translation from English to Hindi, and an Essay each in Hindi and English.

Admit Card

  • The admit card for SSC JHT 2024 exam will be uploaded on the official website of concerned regional office around a week before exam.
  • Those who submit their application form successfully before the last date will be receiving their admit card.
  • Admit card can be downloaded by providing their registration number and password.
  • The candidates must carry the admit card, photo id proof and 3 passport size photographs to the exam center.
  • In case of problem in downloading the admit card or error in the admit card, the same must be communicated to the commission immediately.

Result & Selection

  • The result of the SSC JHT paper 1 exam will be released on official website of SSC.
  • Candidates who qualify the exam will be allowed to appear for the paper 2 exam.
  • Those who clear both the examinations will be considered for recruitment.
  • Such candidates will be invited to take part in the document verification process.
  • Applicants will also be allowed to provide their preference for post during document verification.
  • After successful verification of documents, candidates will be selected for different posts according to their choice and rank.
