SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who are going to appear in SSC CHSL exam must know the eligibility criteria before applying. The eligibility criteria of SSC CHSL are the set of norms/ rules in terms of educational qualification, age, and nationality. Aspirants are needed to satisfy the SSC CHSL eligibility criteria to apply for the recruitment process. In case, an applicant will be found ineligible at any stage of SSC CHSL recruitment process then his/her application would be rejected.

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria

Educational criteria for SSC CHSL Exam

  • Interested candidates, who want to apply for the recruitment exam, are needed to complete 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board.
  • Certificates, obtained through open Universities/Distance Education mode, should be recognized by Distance Education Council, IGNOU.
  • Candidates, who are appearing in the qualifying examination, are also eligible to apply for the recruitment exam but on provisional basis.
  • The applicants, who will be invited for appearing at the Typing Test/Skill Test, are needed to produce the related Certificate in Original format such as Provisional Certificate, Mark sheets, etc fail to do so their candidature will be rejected by the commission.

Nationality

The Nationality or citizenship of candidate as per the SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria

An applicant must be either:

  • a citizen of India, or
  • subject of Nepal, or
  • a subject of Bhutan, or
  • Tibetan refugee who came over to India, earlier than the January 1, 1962 with the purpose of permanently settling in India, or
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African Countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (previously Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the purpose of permanently settling down in India.

Age relaxation according to SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria

  • As per officials, the age of candidate must be between 18 to 27 years. He/she should be born not before August 1992 and after August 2001. As a proof of age, candidates need to submit date of birth certificate or class X passing certificate.
  • The relaxation in upper age will be provided for the reserved categories as per the Government of India, the details of which are listed below in this table:
