NIFT Application Form: Documents Required, How to Apply?

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is one of the premier institutes in India for courses related to the Fashion Industry. Those interested candidates who want to apply for any of the courses in NIFT need to fill and submit the application form before the last date. You should note that the application form will release in online mode only. It is compulsory for all candidates to fill the NIFT application form in the English language only.  In this post, we are going to provide all the necessary details related to NIFT Application Form.

Essential Documents required to fill the application form

Before filling the application form online, you must keep the following documents/ details/ information ready.

  • Personal and Educational qualification details
  • Valid Email ID (the email should be valid for at least 1 year)
  • Disability Certificate (for Persons with Disabilities)
  • Caste / Tribe/ Class certificate (for SC / ST/ OBC candidates)
  • Image of scanned photograph in jpg / jpeg format with date of clicking the photograph printed on it at the bottom and size should not exceed 50 KB
  • Image of scanned signature in jpg / jpeg format and size should not exceed 50 KB
  • Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI details for making online payment

How to apply NIFT Application Form?

Before filling the application form, candidates must ensure they meet NIFT eligibility criteria. If you are eligible then you can follow the steps given below.

1st Step – Fresh Candidate to Create Log in Credentials

  • First of all, you need to visit the official website i.e. https://applyadmission.net/nift.
  • On the official website, you should click “Fresh Candidate to create log in (New log in)”
  • Next, you will have to fill in the details to register for any programme. Here, you need to enter a valid email ID for applying online.
  • Click on the “Submit” button once you are done with filling in the information.
  • The confirmation with registration details will be sent to your registered email ID.

2nd Step – Already Logged In candidate log in to complete the process of filling online

In the second step, you will have to perform the following four actions.

  • 1st Action – Fill Application Details
  • 2nd Action – Uploading Image (Photograph and Signature)
  • 3rd Action – Make Payment
  • 4th Action – Print Application

Fill Application Details

  • After logging in, you will have to fill in details in the online application form.
  • The details you need to enter in the application form include educational details, personal details, and contact details.
  • Details entered in the application form should be accurate. Otherwise, the application form can get rejected.
  • Click on the “Save” once you are done entering details in the application form. In case you want to edit any of the information then you can login once again by entering credentials generated during registration.

Uploading Images (Photograph and Signature)

After filling in the details, you need to upload a photograph of the candidates. Along with the photograph, you will have to upload scanned images of the signature.

Photograph

  • Photograph must be a recent passport size colour picture with date of clicking the picture printed on it at the bottom
  • It is also necessary for you to ensure that the picture is in colour, taken against a light colored, preferably white background, and has no harsh shadows.
  • In case you wear glasses you need to ensure that there are no reflections and your eyes can be clearly seen.
  • You must also confirm that both ears are visible in the picture. Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. However, religious headwear is allowed but it must not cover your face.
  • The format of the image should be in .jpg or .jpeg format. The size of file should not be more than 50 Kb.

Signature

  • The signature should be on white paper with a black ink pen.
  • You need to scan the signature part only not the complete page.
  • The size of the scanned image should not be more than 50 KB.
  • The format of the scanned image should be anyone from .jpg or .jpeg.

Make Payment

  • After uploading the images in the application form, you will have to pay the required application fee.
  • You will have to pay the application fee in online mode.
  • In order to pay the application fee, you can use a credit card, debit card or internet banking.

Note: Prior to making the payment you should do all the corrections/ modifications in the application form. It is not possible to make corrections in the application form after the application fee payment.

Print Application 

  • Finally, you should take a printout of the application form submitted for your record.
  • At the same time, you must take a printout of fee payment confirmation as well.
  • Remember, the NIFT admit card will be issued only to those candidates who will pay the application fee before the last date.
