NDA Application Form

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is the authority responsible for releasing the official notification for NDA. Those who want to apply need to fill and submit the application form before the last date. The application form will release in online mode only. Aspirants must note that the board will not release any offline application form. Along with the application form, candidates have to the pay required application fee before the last date. Go through this post, to know the step by step method to fill and submit the NDA application form in an accurate manner.

The application form for NDA 2022 is now available.

Things required to fill the NDA Application Form

Aspirants must ensure that they have the following things/ information with them while filling the NDA application form.

  • An email address
  • Phone number
  • Photograph of the candidate in the prescribed format and size
  • Signature of the candidate in the prescribed format and size
  • Class 10th and 12th Mark sheets to enter the educational details.

How to apply for NDA?

If you have checked the NDA eligibility criteria and sure that you are eligible then you may follow the steps given below in order to apply.

1st Step – Visit the official website

  • First of all, you need to visit the official website of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) i.e. www.upsc.gov.in.
  • The home page will open as soon as you visit the official website.
  • On the right-hand side of the home page opposite “National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (I)” you will find two links i.e. “Part I registration” and “Part II registration”.
  • Here, you need to click “Part-I registration”.

2nd Step – Part I registration 

    • After clicking on the “Part I Registration” button, a new page will appear on your screen containing important information about the application form.
    • You should read the instructions and click on the “Yes” button that will appear at the bottom of the screen.
    • Please note that clicking “Yes” will take you to the application form.
    • The part I registration is divided into the following four pages
  • 1st Page – Candidate’s Details (Registration)
      • Enter Candidate’s Personal details
        • On this page, you need to provide your personal details.
        • The details to be entered on this page are Name, DOB, Father’s name, Mother’s name, Aadhaar Number (if available), Nationality, Fee Remission Allowed, Community, minority, marital status, etc.
      • Enter Candidate’s Qualification details
        • Here, you will have to provide your educational qualification details.
      • Address
        • On this page, you are required to enter your address details accurately.
        • At the time of entering your address, you will have to enter your personal contact number and phone number of your parents.
        • Click on the “Continue” button once you are done feeding all the details.
  • 2nd Page – Choose the branch preferences
    • On this page, you will have to choose the branch of the Indian Armed Forces as per your preferences i.e. Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy.
    • Mark the preference as 1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice, etc.
    • You can also mark “o” in the field for which you don’t want to give any preference.
    • On this page, you will also need to provide information about Whether you are a student of Sanik/ Military School or Son of JCO/ NCO/ Other Rank Officer.
    • Mark your response as “Yes” or “No”.
    • Click on the “Continue” button after entering the information.
  • 3rd Page – Verify your details
    • In this page, you need to update your details by clicking on the “Update” button.
    • Next, you should verify details properly because no correction will be allowed after submitting the form.
    • Finally, click on the “I Agree” button after verifying the details.
  • 4th Page – Generate Registration ID
    • On this page, you will be able to see the system-generated “Registration ID”. Apart from this, information such as name, father’s name, Date of birth, email ID, etc.
    • That’s it, the “Part – I Registration” of NDA application form submission has been completed.
    • You will receive the email regarding the same on your registered email ID.

Note: After finishing the first part of registration, you will have to take a printout of this page. To do the same, you need to click on the “Print” button. At the same time, you should note down the  registration id and DOB as it is required in further stages.

3rd Step – Part – II Registration 

The part – II registration involves the following four steps.

  • Application Fee payment
  • Filling the choice for examination centre
  • Uploading the photograph
  • Uploading signature of the candidate

Application Fee Payment

  • In the part – II registration, you will have to pay the necessary application fee.
  • The application fee can be paid online using cash/ debit card/ credit card or internet banking.
  • If you want to pay the fee in cash, you will have to submit a challan at the SBI bank branch.
  • Those who have a debit card/ credit card of any bank can pay the application fee.
  • You can pay the application fee using the internet banking facility of State Bank of India/State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/ State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/ State Bank of Travancore.
  • After paying the application fee, you will receive an SMS alert on your registered phone number.

Filling the choice for examination centre

  • After the payment of application fees, you need to provide the choice of exam centre city as per your choice.
  • Candidates may choose any examination centre as per your choice.

Upload a photograph of the candidate

  • Next, you will have to upload your passport size photograph in the prescribed format. Keep the following instructions in mind while uploading the documents.
    • The size of the photograph should be between 20 Kb and 300 Kb.
    • The format of the photograph must be “.jpg”.
    • Please note that the ideal size of the photograph should be 140 pixels height x 110 pixels width.
    • Apart from this, the bit depth of the image file must be 24 bit.

Upload Signature of the candidate

  • You will have to put your signature with a black pen on white paper.
  • Please note that format of the image should be “.jpg”.
  • The pixel size of the signature should be “110 pixels height and 140 pixels width”.
  • Also, note that the size of the file must be at least 1 kb and a maximum of 40 kb.
  • The bit depth of the image file must be 24 bit.

4th Step – Read Declaration and click Agree

  • After completing the part – 2 registration,  you need to click on the “I have read declaration & Agree” button. Clicking on this button will finally submit your application form.
  • At this time, you should also take a printout of the application form submitted for future references.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question – 1: Do I need to send a copy of the application form submitted to the UPSC Office?

Answer: No, there is no need to send the hard copy of the application form. You just need to submit the form online.

Question – 2: Which category of applicants is exempted from application fee payment?

Answer: You should note that SC/ ST candidates need not pay the application fee. Apart from this, those who are sons of ex-serviceman/ JCO/NCO and Other Ranks are also exempted from application fee payment. Please note that such candidates have to mention in the application form  their application fee exemption.

Question – 3: Will I get confirmation after submitting the application form?

Answer: Yes, you will receive a confirmation message at your registered email address.

Question – 4: Is it possible to submit the NDA application form offline?

Answer:  No, all candidates need to submit the application form in online mode only.
