JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2025

It is important for a candidate to make sure that they meet the following eligibility criteria before filling out the application form.

Age Limit

  • NTA has not specified any particular age limit to apply for this test. However, a few institutes that offer admission on the basis of JEE Main have age limits as one of the admission criteria.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed class 12th or equivalent exam either in the year 2021 or 2022.
  • Those candidates who will appear for their 12th class or equivalent exam in the year 2025 are also eligible.
  • Students must have studied Maths, Physics and any one of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects at the class 12th level.
  • For B.Arch/ B. Planning – Candidates must have passed class 12th or equivalent examination with Mathematics at class 12th level.

Admission Criteria for IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs – Candidates must have scored at least 5% marks (65% for SC/ST category candidates) or should fall under the top 20 percentile of their respective boards.

JEE Main 2025 Application Form

The application forms for JEE Main examination 2025 will release in online mode only. Those who want to apply need to register themselves on the official NTA website. Go through the steps below to understand the JEE Main Application Procedure 2025.

  • First of all, you will have to register on the official NTA website by providing a few of your basic details like Name, Phone Number, email address, etc.
  • Once registered, you will get the system generated login credentials on your registered email ID.
  • Then, in the next step, you need to sign in by entering the credentials generated in the previous step.
  • After that, you must furnish your complete educational, personal, and contact details in the form.
  • Apart from the details, you are also required to upload scanned images of your photograph (10 KB to 200 KB) along with a signature (4 KB to 30 KB).
  • Please note that images of both your photograph and signature should be in JPEG/ JPG format.
  • After submitting the application form, you will have to pay the required application fee as per your category.
  • Finally, you should take at least 4  printouts of the confirmation page.

JEE Main 2025 Admit Card 

  • Those candidates who will register successfully will be able to download their admit cards.
  • The admit cards will release online through the official website. Candidates will have to provide their registration details to download the same.
  • The information like examination date, venue, etc. will be mentioned on the admit card.
  • Along with the admit card, candidates should bring one photo ID proof to the examination centre.
  • Keep the admit card safe even after the exam because it might be needed at the time of the admission.

JEE Main Exam pattern 2025

Please note the JEE Main is the top engineering entrance exam in India. So, you can expect a fair bit of competition. We recommend you prepare well for the exam. The exam pattern for JEE Main 2025 is given below.

For Paper 1 (B.Tech/ B.E)

  • Mathematics: Sets, Relations and Functions, Permutations and combinations, Matrices and determinants, Mathematical induction, Mathematical reasoning, Integral calculus, Continuity and differentiability, Sequences and series, Co-ordinate geometry, Three-dimensional geometry, Trigonometry, Vector algebra etc.
  • Physics: Kinetic theory of gases, Electromagnetic waves, Rotational motion, Properties of solids and liquids, Gravitation, Kinetic theory of gases, Oscillations and waves, Electrostatics, Dual nature of matter and radiation, Current electricity, Magnetic effects of current and magnetism, Electrostatics, Work, power and energy etc.
  • Chemistry: General principles and processes of isolation of metals, Purification and characterization of organic compounds, Hydrocarbons, Organic compounds, Classification of elements and periodicity in properties, Polymers, Block elements (alkali and alkaline earth metals), Block elements group 13 to group 18 elements, D-block elements and f-block elements, General principles and processes of isolation of metals, Surface chemistry, Equilibrium, Chemical bonding, Redox reactions and electrochemistry etc.

For Paper 2 – Aptitude Test for B.Arch/ B.Planning

  • Part I – Awareness of persons, places, Buildings, Materials. Objects, Texture related to Architecture and build—environment. Visualising three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings. Visualising. different sides of three-dimensional objects. Analytical Reasoning Mental Ability (Visual, Numerical and Verbal).
  • Part II – Three dimensional – perception, Sketching of scenes and activities from memory of urbanscape (public space, market, festivals, street scenes, monuments, recreational spaces, ect.), landscape (river fronts, jungles, trees, plants, etc.) and rural life.
  • Part III (Planning) – General Awareness regarding development issues, government programs/schemes etc., Comprehension, critical thinking and analytical skills, graphs, charts and map reading skills, simple statistics, CBSE class X Social Sciences topics.

JEE Main 2025 Result

  • Soon after the examination, the result along with the JEE Main Rank Card 2025 will be updated on the official website.
  • The result of the JEE Main Exam 2025 will carry information about the subject-wise and total marks scored by candidates.
  • The rank card will include All India and All India Category Wise Rank of the Candidate.
  • Please note that admission into Top Institutes like NITs/ CFTIs/ SFIs will be provided on the basis of All India Rank (AIR) only.
  • Top 2,20,000 of all candidates appeared for the exam will be short listed for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam.
