The Himachal Pradesh Technical University will be conducting an entrance test for admission to various courses in the field of technology, pharmacy, management and computer application. Admissions will be given into B.Tech, B.Pharma, M.Tech, M.Pharma, MBA and MCA degree programmes. The entrance exam will be conducted offline tentatively in the month of May 2022. Candidates will be able to fill their application form in online mode from March 2022 onwards. The aspiring candidates must ensure their eligibility before applying for the entrance test. Main Highlights of HPCET 2022 Exam

• Incomplete or incorrect application form shall not be considered and no correspondence shall be made in this regard.
• The candidates are advised to take a printout of the application form and keep is safe for future reference.
• Application fee once submitted is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
• Candidates must not mutilate the e-admit card or change any entry made in it as this will render it invalid.
• Prior to result declaration, answer key will be released by the university. Candidates are also welcome to submit their grievances in case they found any discrepancy in the answer key.

Exam Pattern

The overview of the HPCET 2022 exam pattern is given below:

• Mode of exam: Offline mode
• Duration of exam: 3 hours for B.Tech, B.Pharma, M.Tech, M.Pharma and 2 hours for MBA and MCA
• Medium of test: English
• Total questions: 150 for B.Tech, B.Pharma and 100 for rest others
• Type of questions: Objective type
• Total marks: 300 for B.Tech, B.Pharma and 200 for rest others
• Marking scheme: 2 marks will be awarded for each right answer.
• Negative marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

HPCET Application Form 2022

The interested candidates will be able to apply online for HPCET 2022. Application form will be released on the official website of the university www.himtu.ac.in hopefully in the month of March 2022.

• At first, the candidates will have to fill a registration form providing basic information like name, date of birth, mobile number, email address, username and password.
• The candidates can then login to their accounts using their username, password and application form number generated after registration.
• The application form divided into six tabs i.e. Basic Detail, Verify Email, Upload Photo and Signature, Confirmation, Fee Payment & Payment Detail, will appear.
• In the application form, the candidates will have to provide their personal details, educational details and upload scanned copies of signature and photograph.
• Once all the details are submitted into the form, it can be submitted along with the prescribed application fee.

Application fee:

• The application fee payment can be done in both online and offline mode.
• For online payment, the candidates can select net banking, debit card or credit card payment options.
• Offline payment can be done by generating PNB challan from the website, submitting it in the bank and then providing the payment details into the form.

HPCET Eligibility Criteria 2022

The following is the course-wise eligibility criteria for HPCET 2022:

• B.Tech: A pass in class 12^th or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects and a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved category candidates) in aggregate of these subjects is required.
• M.Tech: BE/ B.Tech in relevant branch or equivalent with at least 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category candidates) is required.
• B.Pharma: Candidates should have cleared class 12^th or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject securing at least 45% marks in aggregate of these subjects (40% for reserved category candidates). Age of the candidate should be at least 17 years as on 31^st December 2020.
• B.Pharma (Ayurveda): The applicants should have passed their 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and obtained minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% marks for reserved category candidates) in these subjects.
• M.Pharma: Those who have completed their B.Pharma or equivalent with at least 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category candidates) are eligible.
• MCA: Applicants with bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 year duration with at least 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category candidates) are eligible. Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 or degree level is mandatory.
• MBA: The candidates who have done their graduation of minimum duration 3 year obtaining at least 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category candidates) are eligible.

Admit Card

• The admit card will be released on the university’s official website and can be downloaded by the candidates using their application form number.
• A printout of the admit card should be taken and carried to the exam center on the day of exam.
• Candidates will not be permitted to appear for the written test without a valid admit card.
• On the admit card, name and photograph of candidate, exam center address and date and an admit card number will be printed.
• In case of any discrepancy in the admit card, the candidates must contact the Controller of Examinations, Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Gandhi Chowk, Hamirpur HP.

Result

• The result of HPCET 2022 will be uploaded on the official website as per the specified schedule.
• Candidates will be able to check their results from the Notice Board of the University as well.
• Applicants must download their result from the university’s website and carry it while reporting for counseling.

Counseling

• Centralized counseling will be conducted by the university after the declaration of result.
• The qualified candidates will have to fill an online application-cum-counseling form and other related information made available on the website of the University.
• At the time of counseling the documents of the candidates will be verified and seats will be allotted to them as per their preference.
• Shortlisted candidates will then have to report to the allotted institute to complete the admission formalities.
