Assam Polytechnic 2022: Application Form (From 1 May), Exam Date, Eligibility

The Directorate of Technical Education, Assam will be conducting entrance test for shortlisting the candidates for admission into government polytechnics of Assam.  Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) will be conducted for admission into 3-year diploma courses in the field of engineering and technology and a separate admission test for admission into Diploma Course in Modern Office Management. The application form for the admissions will be released online from the month of March, for PAT and in April, for MOM. The entrance exam has been scheduled to be held on 17th July 2022.   • The application number generated after saving the details of the application form will be used for further applicant login and therefore should be kept safe.
  • Only the candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria should apply for the admissions.
  • Sponsored candidate from other states and union territories can submit their application form but need not appear for the entrance exam.
  • The candidates who discontinued their studies after the qualifying examination will have to furnish a gap period certificate.

Syllabus

The syllabus of the Assam Polytechnic 2022 will be based on the curriculum of class 10th and will consist of the important topics from the subjects of Science and Mathematics.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to be eligible for Assam Polytechnic 2022 exam:

For PAT:

Domicile:

  • Candidates must be an Indian citizen and permanent resident of Assam.

Age limit:

  • The candidates should be born on or after 1st August 2002 (1st August 2004 for SC/ ST/ PH candidates).

Qualification criteria:

  • The candidates should have passed their class 10th or equivalent exam from a recognized board with Science and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in a single sitting.
  • Applicants who have passed the TSLC exam of SCTE, Assam are also eligible to apply.
  • A minimum of 40% marks in Science and Mathematics for general candidates, 35% for SC candidates and 30% for ST candidates is also required.

Physical fitness:

  • Applicants should be physically and mentally fit to carry out the work related to their course.

For MOM admission:

Domicile:

  • Candidates must be an Indian citizen and permanent resident of Assam.

Age limit:

  • The candidates should be born on or after 1st August 2000 (1st August 2002 for SC/ ST/ PH candidates).

Qualification criteria:

  • Female candidates who have passed their class 12th exam in Humanities, Science or Commerce or its or equivalent can apply for the entrance exam.

Physical fitness:

  • Applicants should be physically and mentally fit to carry out the work related to their course.

Application Form

The application form for the Assam Polytechnic 2022 will be released in online mode on the official website dte.assam.gov.in. Candidates are suggested to fill and submit their application form right on time in order to be able to download their admit card and appear for the exam.

  • The candidates will have to provide their personal and academic details into the application form.
  • Photograph and signature of the candidates in scanned format should also be uploaded in the application form.
  • In the application form, the candidates will also have to provide the choice for the exam city.
  • After providing the information as required into the application form, the candidates will be required to save the form.
  • Once the application form is saved, an application number will be generated which must be kept safe for future reference.
  • Candidates will then be redirected for the application fee payment, which is the last step in the application process.

Application fee:

  • The candidates will have to make payment of Rs. 400/- as the application fee.
  • Fee payment can be done via net banking/ debit card/ credit card or by SBI bank Challan.
  • Payment made will be reflected and updated in the applicant login after receiving payment confirmation from the bank.
  • Receipt of application fee payment must be kept safe by the candidates.

Admit Card

  • The admit card for Assam Polytechnic 2022 will be released for the candidates who have submitted their application form successfully.
  • Admit card should be downloaded by the candidates and printout should be taken to be carried to the exam center.
  • Candidates will be able to download their admit card using their application number and date of birth.
  • No candidate without a valid admit card will be allowed to enter the examination hall.
  • The admit card will only be released online on the official website and there is no other mode of sending the admit card.

Result

  • The candidates will be able to check their result online from the official website.
  • Merit of the candidates will be calculated on the basis of marks scored by them in the admission test.
  • A list of the qualified candidates will be made available on the website and in local newspapers in the order of their merit.
  • Candidates whose names appear in the merit list will then have to report for the counseling as per the given schedule.

Counseling

  • Candidates whose names appear in the merit list will have to attend the counseling process. No separate call letters will be issued.
  • The schedule and other details of the counseling process will be communicated to the candidates through the official website.
  • Applicants can provide their choice for course and institute during the counseling.
  • Those appearing for the counseling should carry all the relevant documents along with them.
  • Documents and eligibility of the candidates will be verified at the time of counseling.
  • Admissions will be granted to the candidates after successful verification of documents.
  • The selected candidates should then report to the allotted institute to complete the formalities of admission.

Documents Required

The candidates must carry the following documents in original and self-attested photocopies as well while reporting for the counseling process. The photocopies will be submitted and the originals will be returned after verification.

  • Part B of the application form with two recent passport size photographs pasted on it
  • Self attested copies of mark sheet of qualifying examinations passed
  • Proof of age (self attested copy of Admit Card or Certificate of the Board/ University)
  • Character certificate from the Head of the Institutions last attended
  • GAP certificate from the head of institute last attended or from the Notary (if applicable)
  • Caste certificate from competent authority & countersigned by DC/ ADC/ SDO (Civil) (for SC/ ST/ OBC/ MOBC/ Tea-Garden/ Ex-Tea Garden Labour Community candidates)
  • Certificate from Assam Moran Sabha with the counter signature of DC/ ADC/ SDO (Civil) (for Moran community candidates)
  • Certificate from Director of Sports, Assam and proof of representing State (for Sports and NCC quota candidates)
  • Certificate from the Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister, Assam or relationship certificate of the candidate with the freedom fighter from the Deputy Commissioner or his authorized official of the district of the freedom fighter (for Freedom Fighter category candidates)
  • Certificate from the Director, Sainik Board, Assam (for retired defence personnel category)
  • Certificate from the employer (for Central Government employee candidate)
  • Identity card as issued by Social Welfare Department (for PWD candidates)
  • Certificate from the concerned DC/ ADC/ SDO of the concerned district in lieu of PRC
