JNU Admission 2021: Important dates, Eligibility, Application Form

JNU admission 2021: Jawaharlal Nehru University (referred as JNU) is the reputed University which offers admission to various UG, PG and doctoral courses. The university will organize an entrance exam namely JNUEE 2021 (Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam) for offering admission in above-said courses.

JNUEE 2021 is going to be organized probably in December 2020 and its application form available from September 2020. Eligibility Criteria for JNUEE 2021

Applicants need to satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria for the courses in which they want to get admission. Eligibility criteria for JNU admission 2021 for some popular programmes are as follows:

B.A. (Hons.) 1st year A pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination with no less than 45% marks.

Appearing candidates can also apply.

Candidates holding a certificate of Alimiah with no less than 45% marks and passed English Language subject at 12th level or a three -year course organized by Darul-Uloom Deoband may also eligible to apply.

B.A. (Hons.) second year admission in German Applicants should pass 1st year of Bachelor’s degree or an examination recognized as equivalent with no less than 50% marks in 10+2+3 scheme with ability in German.
B.A. (Hons.) 2nd year admission in other than German Applicant must have passed 1st year of Bachelor’s degree or an examination recognized as equivalent with no less than 45% marks in 10+2+3 scheme with ability in related language.
M.A. in Politics (with area of specialization in International Studies) and M.A. in (International Relations and Area Studies) Candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in any stream with no less than 50% marks.
M.A. in Economics (with Specialization in World Economy) Candidates must pass bachelor’s degree with obtaining at least of 50% aggregate marks in the following subjects: Economics (Hons.) with Mathematics as an additional subject or Statistics (Hons.) with Mathematics and Economics as an additional subject or Mathematics (Hons.) with Economics as an additional subject.

Moreover, candidates who possess any bachelor’s degree completed with Mathematics & Economics with minimum of 60% marks can also apply.

Ph.D/ M.Phil Applicants holding master’s degree in the concerned discipline can apply.
M.Sc in Life Sciences Candidates who complete Bachelor’s (B Tech or B. Sc. or equivalent) in Physical, Biological or Agricultural Sciences or Biotechnology in the 10+2+3 pattern of education with no less than 55% marks can apply.
MCA Candidate should pass bachelor’s degree with Mathematics in 10+2 or at graduate level with obtaining minimum of 55% marks.
Ph.D (Direct Admission) Applicants holding 2-years M.Phil degree or one year M.Phil with one year research experience and one publication are eligible to apply.
OrCandidates must have at least of two-year research experience after Master’s degree or diploma equivalent of Master degree with research publication. Furthermore, candidates must complete the master’s degree with no less than 55% marks.
Ph.D/ M.Tech Applicants should possess a Master Degree in Computer Science or Statistics or Mathematics or Operational Research or in any discipline of Science or Bachelor’s degree in any stream of Engineering or MCA with obtaining at least of 55% marks.

JNU Admission 2021 Application form: How to apply?

The details of JNUEE 2021 application form are listed below:

  • Candidates can fill the JNUEE 2021 application form in either online or offline mode.
  • Besides, they can obtain the offline application form via post. Applicants should submit their offline application form through registered post/speed post to the “Section officer (Admissions), Room No. 28, Administrative Block, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi – 110067”.
  • Fill the form completely with correct details.
  • Candidates need to upload the Photograph and signature in the application form as per the prescribed format.
  • Make the payment of applicable fee through internet banking/ debit card/ credit card or e-challan of SBI bank.
  • Take the printout of confirmation page for future reference.

JNUEE 2021 Examination pattern

For each course of JNU, there will be a different examination pattern. The entrance test will organize in offline mode only for the duration of 3 hours. Each programme will comprise different number of questions. In JNUEE 2021 paper the subjects will vary from course to course. Below we’ve provided the details of examination pattern for various courses.

MCA It will include the multiple choice questions (MCQs) which asked from the 10+2 / Graduation level Mathematics and Probability and General Aptitude and reasoning subjects.
M.Sc. Environmental Sciences The will be two parts in the question paper i.e. Part 1 & Part 2. Part 1 will include

Questions from Science and Mathematics of class 10+2 whereas in Part 2 questions will asked from Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Botany, Geology,  and Zoology subjects at the B.Sc. level.

M.A. in Economics (with area of specialization in World Economy) Objective type questions will be asked in examination comprising of 100 marks from the subjects of micro-economics,  mathematics and statistics, macro-economics, International trade  and  some concerned streams such  as  public economics and economic development

There is also negative marking in this exam.

B.A. (Hons.) 1st year in Foreign Languages The paper will check the skills of candidates in the field of General Knowledge, General English and Elementary Knowledge on the culture and proficiency of the languages/country related and aptitude for language skills.
B.A. (Hons.) 2nd year in Foreign Languages The paper examines the Knowledge of basic and applied grammar, as well some proficiency for simple translation from the language related into English and vice-versa and expertise with the culture and ethnicity of the country related.

The exam will conduct in particular foreign language.

M.Tech/Ph.D and M.Phil/Ph.D The paper will comprise multiple choice questions (MCQs).

The paper will consist of the questions at Graduate/Post graduate level Statistics, Mathematics and Graduate/Post -graduate level General Aptitude and Computer Science.

 Syllabus

The syllabus of entrance exam will vary from course to course. In general, the syllabus for particular programme will include the subjects from the qualifying examination of that programme.

Admit card

The authority will release the admit card for JNUEE in online mode only on its official website. Candidates can download their admit card probably in December 2020. They need to bring the admit card while appearing in the entrance examination.

Result

The result of JNU 2021 will announce online mode only probably in the month of July. Candidates should select programme of study and field of study in order to check the result. Selected candidates will be invited for viva-voce round. A separate merit list will be prepared according to different categories for each course of study.

JNU 2021 Admission process

The selection of candidates for admission to various courses is done on the basis of merit rank. A separate merit list will be made on the basis of student’s performance in the written entrance exam and viva-voce (wherever specified). The registration process for admissions will begin probably from September 2020.
