TS Polycet 2022: Application Form (Released), Exam Date, Pattern, Eligibility

The State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana will be conducting TS Polycet 2022 exam for admission in different engineering and non-engineering diploma programs offered by the colleges in the state. Candidates can apply for the entrance exam by filling the online application form. The authority has released the application form on 9th May 2022.  Candidates should carefully check their eligibility before filling the application form. The exam will be held in OMR based mode where the candidates will be provided with a question booklet and an OMR answer sheet to mark the answers. There will be no provision of negative marking. Hence, candidates should try to attempt all the questions.

TS Polycet 2022 – Highlights

  • Candidates can apply for the exam only via online mode. No printed application form shall be accepted for submission in this regard.
  • Mere appearing for Polycet exam and obtaining a merit rank does not entitle a candidate to be considered for admission automatically unless the candidate fulfills the requirements laid down for admission.
  • To be eligible for counselling, candidates need to score 30% marks in the exam. However, no such conditions will be applicable for reserved category candidates.
  • Admission in different diploma programs will strictly be based on the marks obtained in the entrance exam.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend the online counselling where a seat will be allocated to them.

Exam pattern

The exam pattern for TS Polycet 2022 exam is mentioned below-

Syllabus

The syllabus of TS Polycet exam will be based on the syllabus prescribed for class 10th. Candidates need to study physics, chemistry and mathematics to fetch good marks in the exam.

TS Polycet 2022 Application form

The application form for TS Polycet exam can only be filled in online mode i.e. by visiting the official website of the board of technical education and training. Applicants need to keep their documents handy before they begin filling their information in the form. The form shall bear the following details- class 10th roll number, name, email id, phone number, address, father’s name, religion, category, gender, educational information etc.

It is important for the candidates to provide correct information in the form. If the details provided by them are found to be misleading then they will be disqualified from appearing in the exam. Candidates also need to upload their scanned photograph and signature in the form. They should review their application before making the final submission as no changes will be allowed once the form is submitted successfully. Candidates must pay the application form for the exam failing which their application will be rejected by the authority.

Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for appearing in TS Polycet 2022 exam are mentioned below-

  • Nationality and domicile: Only Indian Nationals can apply for the entrance test. Candidates should belong to the state of Telangana or Andhra Pradesh.
  • Age limit: No limit defined by the authority for appearing in the entrance exam.
  • Educational qualification: Applicants should have passed SSC examination or its equivalent from a recognized board with mathematics as one of the subjects. They should have secured at least 35% aggregate marks. Those who are appearing in the SSC examination or have passed it and are awaiting result can also apply for the entrance exam.

Admit card

  • The admit card for TS Polycet 2022 will be released a week before the commencement of the exam.
  • Candidates need to visit the official website to download the admit card.
  • Candidates must take the printout copy of the admit card and retain it for later use.
  • They must bring the admit card to the exam hall along with a valid id proof such as Aadhar card, voter id card, pan card, etc.
  • Without the admit card, the entry to the exam hall shall be denied to the candidates.

Result and counselling

  • To clear the exam, candidates need to secure the minimum passing marks i.e. 36 marks out of 120.
  • The result of TS Polycet can be checked through the official web portal of DTE, Telangana.
  • To shortlist the candidates for admission, the authority will prepare a merit list based on the marks scored by them in the exam.
  • The rank cards will be dispatched within a week from the announcement of result.
  • Selected candidates will be called to attend the counselling where they need to indicate their preferred choice of course and college.
  • The authority will then allot a seat to the candidates according to the following parameters- number of available seats, merit rank, and choice given during the counselling.
  • Candidates need to report to the concerned college to complete the admission related formalities.

  • SSC marksheet and passing certificate
  • Community certificate issued by a competent authority
  • DOB proof
  • TS Polycet hall ticket and rank card
  • Certificate of study from class 4th to class 10th
  • Domicile proof
  • Medical certificate issued by state/ district medical board (for PWD candidates)
  • Other relevant certificates (as applicable)
