SSC MTS 2024: Application Form, Exam Date, Syllabus

Recruitment of the candidates for the posts of Multi Tasking Staff will be done on the basis of SSC MTS 2024 exam. There will be two exams papers and the candidates qualifying both the exams will be considered for the appointment.

Interested and eligible candidates will be able to apply for the exam most likely from January 2024 in online mode. The exam is expected to be held in May 2024 in offline mode, i.e., pen and paper based test.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates preparing for SSC MTS exam should meet the following eligibility criteria:

Nationality:

The candidate should either be:

  • A Citizen of India or
  • A Subject of Bhutan or
  • A Subject of Nepal or
  • Tibetan refugee, who has come to India before 1st January 1962 to become a permanent resident of the country
  • Person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India

Age limit:

Candidates with age between 18 to 25 years as on 1st August 2024 are eligible to apply. Relaxation in the upper age will be given as per the following:

Qualification:

  • A pass in the matriculation or equivalent exam from a recognized board is mandatory to be eligible.
  • Candidates who have not acquired but will acquire the educational qualification before 1st August 2024 will also be eligible.

SSC MTS 2024 Application Form

The candidates will be able to fill and submit their application form in online mode by visiting the official website ssconline.nic.in. There will be two parts of application- registration form and rest application form.

  • Candidates will first have to register themselves to generate id and password which can be used for application form filling.
  • Registration form can be filled by providing the basic details of the candidates.
  • The applicants are suggested to carefully read all the instructions before applying for the SSC MTS 2024 exam.
  • To fill the application form, the candidates will have to provide their rest personal and educational details.
  • The candidates will also have to upload the scanned copies of their photograph and signature into the application form.
  • Duly-filled application form can be submitted along with the required application fee.
  • All the information should be entered correctly into the form as any correction will not be possible after form submission.
  • A hard copy of the filled-in application form should be taken out and kept safe in case of further correspondence.

Application fee:

  • Candidates will have to submit Rs. 100/- as SSC MTS application fee. SC/ ST/ PH/ Ex-servicemen candidates are exempted from fee payment.
  • The application fee can be submitted in both online and offline mode.
  • For offline payment, the candidates will have to generate Challan and submit at any branch of SBI.
  • Online fee payment can be done via SBI net banking or any credit or debit card.

Exam Pattern

The overview of the SSC MTS exam pattern 2024 is given below:

  • Exam duration: 2 hours for Paper I and 30 minutes for Paper II
  • Number of papers: 2 (Paper I and Paper II)
  • Number of questions: Paper I – 150 and Paper II – 50

  • Marking scheme: +1 mark for each correct answer and -0.25 marks for each incorrect answer for Paper I

SSC MTS 2024 Syllabus

The syllabi for paper I and paper II for the SSC MTS 2024 are mentioned below:

Paper I:

  • General Intelligence: decision making, visual memory, arithmetical computation, space visualization, discriminating observation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, similarities and differences, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, relationship concepts, etc
  • English Language: Basics of English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc
  • Numerical Aptitude: Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Profit and Loss, Discount, use of Tables and Graphs, Mensuration, etc
  • General Awareness: India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc.

Paper II:

  • Questions to test basic language skills commensurate with the educational qualification prescribed for the post, one short essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of Constitution

Admit Card

  • The candidates will have to download the SSC MTS 2024 admit card in order to appear for the exam.
  • Admit cards will be uploaded on the official website of the concerned regional/ sub-regional office of the commission two weeks before the exam.
  • Details of the exam center will be communicated to the candidates through their admit card/ admission certificate.
  • Candidates must carry the admit card along with a valid photo identity proof to the exam center.
  • Those who are not able to download their admit card should immediately contact the concerned regional/ sub regional office.

SSC MTS Result 2024

  • The SSC MTS result 2024 will be announced in online mode and the candidates can check it by visiting the official website.
  • Score and ranking of the candidates will be made available on the website.
  • Other details of the candidates such as name, parents’/ husband’s name, educational qualification, date of birth, category, gender, e-mail address, etc will also be published.
  • The candidates can opt this out while filling the application form if they do not wish these details to be published.

Selection Process

  • Candidates who clear the paper I will have to appear for the Paper II. Those who clear both the papers will be shortlisted for selection.
  • The documents and eligibility of the shortlisted candidates will then be verified.
  • Now, depending on their merit and number of vacancies available for different posts, final selection will be made.
