Odisha DET 2022 – Exam Date, Application for, Syllabus, Pattern

Odisha DET 2022 will be organized by the Directorate of Technical Education and Training (DTET), Odisha for admission in different diploma courses provided by the polytechnic institutes in the state. Interested candidates can apply for DET by filling the online application form which will likely be released in the 2nd week of April 2022. Before applying for Odisha DET, applicants should go through the eligibility conditions set by the authority. DET will be held in two phases. In phase-I, admission will be given to the candidates for entry to the 1st year of diploma courses. In Phase-II admission will be given for entry to the 2nd year of diploma courses i.e. for lateral entries in polytechnic institutes.

Odisha DET 2022 – Highlights

  • Candidates can obtain the application form for Odisha DET 2022 only through the online mode. No printed applications will be considered for submission of the application form.
  • Applicants need to submit the form on time to avoid last-minute rush or technical problems.
  • Candidates will be disqualified if the information provided by them is found to be misleading or inaccurate.
  • Selection of the candidates will purely be done on the basis of the merit obtained in the concerned qualifying examination.
  • The authority will conduct online counselling where candidates will be asked to lock their choice of course and college.
  • After the completion of counselling round, candidate will be allotted a seat based on different parameters.

Odisha DET Application form 2022

Candidates can fill the application form for Odisha DET 2022 only through online mode. The authority won’t release the form in printed format. To apply for Odisha DET, candidates need to visit the official website of the DTET, Odisha. They will be redirected to the SAMS portal after clicking on the diploma link. Candidates need to register for the DET by providing their basic details such as name, DOB, phone number and email id. After creating a password, candidates need to login into the portal to fill the application form.

The form will bear details such as, personal, educational, payment, and other relevant information. It is expected from the candidates to give the correct details in the form as once the form is submitted, no changes can be done. Candidates also need to upload their scanned passport-sized photograph and signature in the form. Incomplete applications or those received without the payment of the application fee will be rejected by the authority.

Application fee

Male candidates are required to pay Rs. 250/- as the application fee. Whereas, SC/ ST/ PC and women candidates need to pay Rs. 200/- towards the application fee for Odisha DET. The payment can be made using the debit card, credit card and net banking.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates should check their eligibility status from the Odisha DET 2022 eligibility criteria given below-

Age limit

  • For diploma in engineering: Candidates should not be less than 14 years old at the time of admission.
  • For diploma in mining/drilling, modern office management, pharmacy: Candidates should not be less than 16 years old at the time of admission.
  • For diploma in film and video editing: Candidate’s age should fall between 16 years and 28 years as on 1st June 2020.

Educational qualification

  • Diploma in engineering: Applicants should have passed class 10th exam or its equivalent from BSE Odisha or other recognized board with science, mathematics and English as compulsory subjects and have secured minimum 35% aggregate marks. A minimum of 30% marks is also required in each subject.
  • Diploma in mining and drilling: A pass in HSC/ class 10th from a recognized board with science, maths and English as subjects is required. Applicants should have got at least 35% marks in aggregate with 30% passing marks in individual subjects.
  • Diploma in modern office management: Candidates should have passed class 12th with minimum 30% marks in aggregate.
  • Diploma in pharmacy: Candidates should have passed class 12th exam or its equivalent with science stream from a recognized board. They should have scored at least 35% aggregate marks in PCM/B subject group with 30% marks in each subject.
  • Diploma in film and video editing: A pass in class 12th exam from a recognized board with at least 35% aggregate marks.

Merit list

  • The authority will sort out the applications and draw a merit list of the shortlisted candidates.
  • The list will be published on the official website of DTET, Odisha in order of the marks obtained by the candidate in the concerned qualifying exam.
  • Candidates who name appears in the merit list will be called to attend the counselling process where a seat will be allotted to them.

Counselling and admission

  • After the announcement of the merit list, selected candidates will be invited to attend the counselling process held online.
  • Candidates will be asked to indicate their choice of preference of course and college.
  • The authority will accommodate a seat to the candidate based on the following parameters- number of available seats, choices opted during the counselling, merit rank, and eligibility status of the candidate.
  • Counselling will be done in multiple rounds and in case a candidate is not satisfied with the seat allotted to him/her, then he/she may opt for another round to get a desirable seat.
  • Once the seat is accepted by the candidates, they need to pay the admission fee and report to the allotted college to finish the admission related formalities such as document verification.
