NIMCET 2022: Application Form (Released), Exam Pattern, Syllabus, Exam Date

NIMCETNIT MCA common entrance test (NIMCET) is conducted by one of the participating NITs for admission in its MCA program.  Candidates can apply for the test by filling the online application form for the same. NIMCET application form is available from 4th April 2022. The exam will be held on 20th June 2022. Before applying for the NIMCET 2022 exam, candidates should make sure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down by the authority. Only Indian nationals can participate in the test. The test will be conducted in offline mode where candidates will be given an OMR answer sheet and a question booklet. Selection in MCA program under NIMCET 2022 will be done solely on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the exam.

NIMCET 2022 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for NIMCET is given below-

  • Exam mode: Offline (OMR based)
  • Medium: English only
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Type of Questions: Objective type (MCQs)
  • Marking Scheme: 4 marks will be awarded for right answer
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for wrong answer

NIMCET Syllabus

The syllabus prescribed for NIT MCA entrance exam is as follows-

Mathematics: Probability and statistics, set theory, algebra, coordinate geometry, calculus, vectors, and trigonometry.

Analytical ability and logical reasoning: Puzzles, syllogism, blood relation, direction test, classification, assertion and reasoning, ranking, statement and assumption etc.

Computer awareness: Computer organization, programming languages, data representation and conversion, computer basics, networking, topology, etc.

General English: Comprehension, vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, English grammar, word-meaning, idioms and phrases, technical writing etc.

NIMCET 2022 Application Form

The application form for NIMCET can be filled by visiting the official website of the same i.e. www.nimcet.in. Candidates first need to register themselves for the exam using their email id and mobile phone number. They need to login into the website in order to fill the application form. Candidates should keep their documents, scanned photograph and signature handy.

The application form must be filled correctly as per the official records and true knowledge as no application correction window will be provided by the authority to make changes in the form once submitted successfully. It is compulsory for the applicants to pay the requisite amount of application fee for the exam failing which their applications will be cancelled by the authority.

Application fee: General and OBC candidates have to pay Rs. 2200/- as the application fee for the test and those belonging to SC/ST/PW category must pay Rs. 1100/- . The fee can be paid via online mode i.e. through debit card/credit card/net banking.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria laid down by the authority for NIMCET are-

Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply for the exam.

Qualifying examination

  • Candidates should have completed minimum three-years of full time B.Sc/B.Sc (Hons.)/BCA/BIT from a recognized University with mathematics or statistics as one of the subjects.

OR

  • Candidates should have done B.E/B.Tech from a recognized University.

Minimum Marks Required: Candidates should have scored at least 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA in the qualifying exam. Reserved category candidates should have scored minimum 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA.

Note: Those appearing in the final year of the qualifying exam can also apply.

Admit card

  • The admit card of NIMCET 2022 can be downloaded from the official website.
  • No admit card will be sent by post/email or other means whatsoever except the one stated above.
  • Candidates should take a printout of the hall ticket and keep it safe till the admission process is over.
  • It is mandatory for the applicants to bring the admit card to the exam along with a valid photo id proof without which they won’t be allowed to take the test.
  • The admit card should not be damaged or torn or mutilated under any circumstances.

Result and Counselling

  • Candidates can check the result of NIMCET 2022 via online mode by visiting the official web portal.
  • The authority will publish a merit list of the candidates based on their performance in the exam.
  • The shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend the counselling process where they will be asked to fill the choice of college they wish to pursue MCA from.
  • The authority will then allot a seat to the candidates as per their merit rank and the choice stated during counselling.
  • Candidates need to report to the concerned allotted institute to finish the admission related formalities.
