Karnataka PGCET 2022 Application Form, Exam Date, Eligibility, Pattern

Karnataka PGCETAdmission to MBA, MCA, ME, M.Tech and M.Arch courses will be given to the candidates on the basis of Karnataka PGCET 2022. The shortlisted candidates will be granted enrolment into the institutes situated in the state of Karnataka. Application form for the admissions will be released in online mode tentatively in the month of May 2022. The entrance test is expected to be held in July 2022. Important Highlights of Karnataka PGCET 2022

  • Only the candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be considered for final admissions.
  • After completion of the test, the candidates will be allowed to carry replica of the filled OMR answer sheet which should be preserved for a period of one year.
  • Request for re-totaling or revaluation of the OMR answer sheets will not be entertained.
  • The process of application, result, counseling, etc will be online whereas the exam will be held in offline mode.
  • Candidates are advised to visit the information brochure regularly to keep themselves up-to-date with the admission process.

Exam Pattern

Overview of the Karnataka PGCET 2022 exam pattern is given below:

  • Duration of exam: 2 hours
  • Mode of exam: Offline (OMR based)
  • Total marks: 100
  • Type of questions: Objective type
  • Number of questions: 100 for MBA, 80 for MCA & 75 for ME/ M.Tech/ M.Arch
  • Marking scheme: Will vary from program to program
  • Negative marking: Not applicable

Eligibility Criteria

The following are the eligibility criteria that need to be fulfilled by the candidates preparing for Karnataka PGCET 2022:

MBA: The candidates should have done a minimum 3-year bachelor’s degree course or equivalent exam with an aggregate of not less than 50% marks taken together in all subjects in all years of the degree exam.

Part-time MBA: The candidates should have done a minimum 3-year bachelor’s degree course or equivalent exam with an aggregate of not less than 50% marks taken together in all subjects in all years of the degree exam. In addition to this, the candidates must have worked for at least 3 years as on 31st July 2020 in an organization situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the institution in which they seeks admission.

MCA: Applicants who have cleared their bachelor’s degree program with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Computer Programming/ Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects and obtained an overall aggregate of at least 50% marks and 50% in the subject as stated above are eligible.

MCA lateral entry: Those who have done BCA or B.Sc (CS/ IT) and secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate are eligible for admissions given that the candidates have studied Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 or graduation level.

ME/ M.Tech/ M.Arch: A pass in BE/ B.Tech/ B.Arch (as applicable) in the relevant field with not less than 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of all the years is required.

Part-time ME/ M.Tech/ M.Arch: A pass in BE/ B.Tech/ B.Arch (as applicable) in the relevant field with not less than 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of all the years is required. In addition to this, the candidates must have worked for at least 3 years as on 31st July 2020 in an organization situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the institution in which they seeks admission.

Note: A relaxation of 5% in the qualifying marks will be given to the SC, ST and Category-I candidates belonging to the state of Karnataka.

Karnatka PGCET Application Form 2022

  • The candidates will be able to fill and submit their Karnataka PGCET 2022 application form in online mode by visiting the official website kea.kar.nic.in.
  • To fill the application form, the candidates will have to provide their personal and educational details.
  • Scanned copy of candidates’ photograph and signature will also be uploaded in the application form.
  • After providing all the details into the application form, the candidates should check it carefully for mistakes.
  • Once the details are cross-checked, the candidates can submit the application form along with the required application fee.
  • A printout of the submitted application form should be taken and kept safe for future reference.
  • There is no need to send the hard copy of the application form or any other document to KEA.

Application fee:

  • The application fee for general/ OBC candidates will be Rs. 650/- and will be Rs. 500/- for SC/ ST candidates of Karnataka.
  • Candidates will be able to submit the application fee online using net banking/ credit card/ debit card.

Admit Card

  • The admit card for Karnataka PGCET 2022 will be made available on the official website of KEA.
  • Candidates who submit their application form successfully will be able to download their admit card.
  • The admit card will consist of the important details related to the exam such as its center, date and time.
  • It is mandatory for the candidates to carry their admit card to the center on the day of exam.
  • No admit card will be sent to the candidates via post/ courier and will only be available online.

Answer Key

  • The answer key will be published on the KEA website within three days after the completion of the entrance test.
  • Those with any objections related to the answer key can submit their query within three days, along with all the supporting documents.
  • Received objections will be placed before an expert committee, whose decision will be final in this regard.
  • Objections filed without supporting documents and those received after the last date fixed will not be considered.

Selection Process

  • A rank list of the candidates will be prepared on the basis of their performance and published on the official website.
  • Candidates whose names appear in this list will be invited to take part in the counseling process.
  • The candidates who are assigned a rank will have to report to the nearest Helpline Centers for registration and verification of documents.
  • After document verification, the candidates will receive a high security secret key using which they will be able to provide choice for course and institute.
  • Seats will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of their rank, choice made and availability of seats.

    Hlo,i am 8th sem student i have backlog in 3rd sem subject… which will be held on August-September…but councelling Start from September will they allow me for councelling
