JIPMER MBBS 2022: Syllabus, Application, Exam Date, Exam Pattern

JIPMER MBBSJawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry (JIPMER) offers admission in 4 years and 6 months of MBBS program to the candidates interested in pursuing a career in the medical field. Admission in MBBS course will be done on the basis of the JIPMER MBBS 2022 entrance exam conducted by the Institute itself. The application form will be made available in the month of March 2022. Candidates should note that the exam will be conducted in online mode where a computer system will be allotted to them to mark the answers to the questions given on the screen. The exam will be held in two shifts i.e. morning shift and afternoon shift. Candidates need to appear in the shift mentioned in their hall ticket. They also need to go through the biometric authentication in the exam.

JIPMER MBBS 2022 Application Form

Students can apply for the JIPMER MBBS entrance exam only through the online mode i.e. by visiting the official website of the same. No mode other than the online one will be accepted by the authority. Before applying for the exam, candidates should keep their documents, scanned photograph and signature ready. The online application form will tentatively be released in the 1st week of March 2022.

Candidates need to fill their personal details, educational details, payment details etc in the application form. Once the form is finished, they should proceed for the application fee payment part. However, if the candidate has committed mistakes in filling the form, then he/she needs to fill a fresh application with the fresh application fee. Students should exercise caution while filling their details in the online form as once the form is submitted no changes in the information will be done thereafter. The applications received without the prescribed application fee will be rejected by the authority.

Mode of Payment: Students can pay the application fee via any one of the given mode of payment- debit card/credit card/net banking.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the JIPMER MBBS entrance exam is given below-

Nationality: Indian Nationals as well as NRI/OCI candidates can apply for the exam.

Age Criteria: The age of the candidate should not be less than 17 years on or before 31st December 2022 or at the time of admission.  There will be no upper age limit for the candidates applying for the exam.

Qualifying examination: Applicants should satisfy any one of the given educational qualification-

  • Candidates should have completed higher/senior secondary examination/class 12th or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology or any other elective with English as compulsory subjects from a recognized board/university.
  • Overseas citizen of India (OCI) and Non-resident-Indian (NRI) need to submit the eligibility certificate from the association of Indian universities, New Delhi to be eligible for admission.

Percentage Required: Candidates should have scored at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology taken together. Those belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/OPH category should have obtained minimum 50% marks in the Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology taken together.

Admit card

  • The admit card for JIPMER MBBS 2022 will be made available only via online mode.
  • Candidates will not be sent the hall ticket by post or any mode other than the one mentioned.
  • The authority will most probably release the admit card in the month of May 2022.
  • Applicants can download the same through the official website of the JIPMER i.e. jipmer.edu.in.
  • Applicants must retain a printout copy of the JIPMER MBBS admit card for future references.
  • Candidates must carry the admit card to the exam venue otherwise they won’t be permitted to take the exam. A valid ID proof such as bank passbook, voter ID card, Driving license etc will also be required.
  • The hall ticket should be kept safe till the admission process is finished.

Result and Counselling

Students can check the result of the JIPMER MBBS 2022 exam by login into the official website. The Authority will make a merit list of the candidates who have qualified the exam as per the performance of the candidates in the exam. Selected candidates will be invited for the counselling process where a seat will be allotted to them as per their merit rank. They will also undergo the document verification phase where all the original documents will be verified. The counselling will tentatively commence from the 4th week of June 2022. If at any stage the information provided by the candidates proves to be incorrect then such candidates won’t be considered for admission.
