JEXPO 2022: Application Form(Till 18 Apr), Syllabus, Exam Dates, Eligibility

jexpoWest Bengal State Council of Technical Education (WBSCTE) will be conducting JEXPO 2022 for admission Engineering/Technology diploma courses offered by different colleges in the state of West Bengal. Candidates can apply for the entrance exam via both the modes i.e. online and offline. Candidates can obtain the offline application form from all govt., govt. sponsored and self-financed polytechnics affiliated to WBSCTE. The application form has been released on 3rd March 2022. The exam will be a pen and paper-based exam where students will be given a question booklet and the OMR answer sheet to mark the answers. Candidates will be given two hours to finish the JEXPO exam.

JEXPO 2022 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for the JEXPO entrance exam is given below-

  • Exam mode: Offline mode (Pen and paper-based)
  • Duration: 2 hours for each paper
  • Type of questions: Objective type (MCQ based)
  • Marking scheme: 1 mark will be awarded for correct answer
  • Total number of questions: 200 questions (100 questions in each paper )
  • Maximum marks: 200 marks
  • Negative marking: There will be no provision of negative marking

JEXPO Syllabus

The syllabus of the exam will typically be based on the subjects studied in class 10th. Here are the topics the candidates must prepare to fetch good marks in the exam-

Mathematics: Profit & Loss, Statistics, Linear Simultaneous Equations, Graph, Co-ordinate Geometry – Distance Formula, Properties of Parallelogram, Real Numbers, Laws of Indices, Transversal & Mid-Point Theorem, Theorems on Area, Polynomial, Factorization,  Theorems related to circle, Rectangular Parallelepiped or Cuboid, Ratio and Proportion, Compound Interest, etc.

Jexpo 2022 Preparation tips 

Exam time can be quite scary for the students. But if they follow certain tips on how to prepare for the exam they can easily escape the nightmare of the same. Here are some useful preparation tips that will help the candidates crack the entrance test with flying colors-

  • Students often start their exam preparation randomly without making practical planning. This backfires when they don’t get the score they were expecting. To clear JEXPO exam, they should make a practical timetable and stick to it no matter what.
  • Collect the study material from the reliable source only as there are 1000s of books available in the market that can confuse you.
  • Do not neglect your health. Many students fail to realize this and compromise their meals resulting in lack of concentration on studies.
  • Practice previous year papers easily available over the Internet. Solve as many as mocks as you can to improve your efficiency.
  • Don’t neglect revision under any circumstances.
  • Avoid using social media, mobile phone, etc that can distract you from studies.

JEXPO 2022 Application Form

Candidates can apply for the exam by filling the application form for the same via online mode or offline mode as per their convenience. To fill the application form via online mode, students need to visit the official website of the council i.e. webscte.org. The application form can be filled from 3rd March 2022. The OMR application form should be submitted at the places from where the candidates have bought the form.

Candidates should fill their particulars in the form with an extreme care as once the form is submitted, no request for editing the information will be entertained by the authority. Candidates can register for the exam by providing their basic details such as mobile number, name, email address etc. Once the registration is done, they can move towards the application form filling. Candidates need to keep the scanned copy of photograph and signature handy. They must pay the relevant fee for the entrance exam failing which their applications will be cancelled or rejected.

Mode of payment: The fee of online form can be paid using credit card/net banking/debit card and for offline mode can be paid in cash.

JEXPO 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for JEXPO 2022 are as follows-

Nationality: To be eligible for the entrance exam, a candidate must be an Indian National.

Age limit: Candidates should not have been born after 1st July 2007. No upper age defined by the authority.

Qualifying examination: Candidates should have completed class 10th/Secondary examination or its equivalent with English, Science/Physical Science, and Mathematics among others as subjects. They should have obtained at least 35% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam. Those appearing in class 10th may also apply for the test.

JEXPO 2022 Admit card

  • Candidates will be issued an E-admit card for the appearing in the entrance exam.
  • The admit card can be download from the official website only i.e. org.
  • Applicants should keep a printout copy of the same and preserve it for future references.
  • Candidates must compulsorily bring the hall ticket to the exam venue otherwise they won’t be allowed to take the exam.
  • The E-admit card will bear the name and address of the exam center along with other details.
  • Students must remember that the authority won’t send the admit card to them via post or any means whatsoever.
  • Students must preserve the admit card till the admission process is over.

JEXPO 2022 Result and Counselling

The authority will publish a merit list of the candidates based on the marks scored by them in the JEXPO 2022 exam. Candidates can check their result by login into the official website. No rank card will be issued by the council to the shortlisted candidates individually or otherwise. Candidates can raise the request to review or inspect the result declared by the council.

The selected candidates will be invited to attend the counselling process where they will be asked to provide their choice of course and college they wish to enroll in. They will also undergo the document verification phase where the original documents carried by the candidates will be thoroughly checked. The council will finally allot a seat to the candidates based on their merit rank, seat availability and the choice given during the counselling. Students then need to report to the concerned college to finish the admission related formalities.
