JCECE 2022: Application Form, Exam Pattern, Syllabus, Exam Date

JCECEEvery year the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) organizes an entrance exam for admission into various UG courses offered by the colleges in the state of Jharkhand. Through JCECE 2022, candidates can get themselves enrolled in courses such as B.E/B.Tech, B.V.Sc. /AH, B.Sc. (Hons) Forestry, B.Tech (Dairy Technology), B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture etc. To apply for the exam, candidates need to fill the online application form.

The application form will be released most probably in the 3rd week of April 2022. JCECE 2022 will be conducted in the online mode where a computer system will be allotted to the candidates. They will be given 3 hours to finish the exam. Students should also note that there will be a provision of negative marking in the exam. Admission in the said programs will strictly be given on the basis of performance of the candidates in the exam.

JCECE 2022 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for JCECE entrance exam is given below-

  • Exam Mode: Online (Computer-based mode)
  • Exam Duration: 3 Hours
  • Language: Hindi & English
  • Type of Questions: Objective (MCQs types)
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark will be awarded for marking the right answer
  • Negative Marking: 1/4th marks will be deducted for marking the wrong answer.

JCECE Syllabus 2022

The syllabus of the JCECE 2022 exam will typically be based on the subjects taught at +2 level. Here are some of the topics that the candidates need to prepare-

Physics: Physical world and measurement, motion of system of particles and rigid body, gravitation, properties of bulk matter, current electricity, magnetic effects of current and magnetism, behavior of perfect gas and kinetic theory, kinematics, laws of motion, work, energy and power, oscillations and waves, electromagnetic and alternating currents, electromagnetic waves, optics etc.

Chemistry: Some basic concepts of chemistry, chemical bonding and molecular structure, states of matter : gases and liquids, thermodynamics, equilibrium, solid state, solutions, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, surface chemistry, structure of atom, classification of elements and periodicity in properties, Redox reactions, hydrogen, s-block elements (alkali and alkaline earth metals), some p-block elements, environmental chemistry, p-block elements, d and f block elements, coordination compounds

Mathematics: Sets, relations & functions, trigonometric functions, principle of mathematical induction, complex numbers and quadratic equations, linear inequalities, permutations & theorem, binomial theorem, sequence and series, straight lines, introduction to three-dimensional geometry, limits and derivatives, mathematical reasoning etc.

Biology: Diversity in living world, structural organization in animals and plants, cell: structure and function, plant physiology, human physiology, sexual reproduction etc.

Preparation Tips

Here are some useful preparation tips for the candidates to excel in the entrance exam-

  1. Prepare a timetable that is realistic enough so that you can follow it diligently.
  2. Study basic concepts first and then only proceed for the complex ones.
  3. Prepare short notes after finishing a topic so that you can revise it quickly.
  4. Practice online mock test to analyze your performance.
  5. Do not get distracted by mobile phone, social media, etc.

JCECE 2022 Application Form

The application form for JCECE entrance exam can only be filled via online mode. For that, candidates have to visit the official website of the JCECEB i.e. http://jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in. Candidates should keep their documents, scanned photograph and signature handy before filling the form. Only one application per student will be allowed and multiple applications will be rejected by the authority. The application form will include the details such as – name, father’s name, religion, gender, category, correspondence address, education details to name a few. These details should be entered with extreme care.

In case a candidate commits a mistake while filling the form and has submitted it without reviewing, then he/she won’t be able to change the information in the form. Therefore, it’s important for the candidates to review their information in the form before they make the final submission. The applications received without the necessary application fee will be rejected by the authority.

JCECE Eligibility Criteria 2022

Since ineligible candidates won’t be allowed to appear for the JCECE exam, candidates must make sure they fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down by the authority. The eligibility criteria are as follows-

Nationality and domicile: Only Indian nationals can apply for the exam. Candidate must be a domicile of Jharkhand i.e. he/she must be a local/permanent resident of Jharkhand.

Age limit: For agriculture and forestry course, the age of the candidates should fall between 17 years and 22 years as on 1st July 2020. However, no such age restrictions will be applicable to those opting for B.Tech course. Candidates opting for animal husbandry course should be minimum 17 years old as on 31st December 2020.

Educational qualification

  • For B.Tech/B.E Course: Candidates should have passed class 12th or its equivalent from a recognized board with mathematics and physics as compulsory subjects and any one of the subjects chemistry/biotechnology/biology/technical vocation with minimum 45% marks in the mentioned subjects.
  • For Agriculture & Forestry Course: Students must have passed class 12th with either PCM subject group or PCB subject group from a recognized board.
  • For Animal Husbandry Course: Candidates must have passed class 12th with PCB subject group.

Admit Card

  • The admit card for the JCECE 2022 exam can be downloaded form the official website of the board.
  • Candidates will be able to download their admit card a week prior to the commencement of the exam.
  • They should keep a printout copy of the hall ticket and preserve it for further use.
  • It is compulsory for the applicant’s to bring the admit card to the exam venue or else they won’t be permitted to take the test.
  • No damage should be done to the admit card under any circumstances.

JCECE Result and Counselling

  • Candidates can check their result by visiting the official website of the JCECEB.
  • A merit list will be published by the authority based on the marks scored by the candidates.
  • Those who are shortlisted will be invited to attend the counselling process where a seat will be allotted to them as per their merit rank.
  • If a candidate is not satisfied by the seat allotted to him/her, then he/she may sit for another round of counselling.
  • Candidates will also undergo the document verification phase where their documents in original form shall be examined thoroughly.
  • Candidates need to report to the college allotted to them to finish the admission related formalities.
