ILICAT 2022: Indian Law Institute Test 2022
The Indian Law Institute will conduct the ILICAT 2022 exam in order to shortlist the candidates for admission to its LLM and PhD programme. The candidates looking to take participate in this exam need to fill and submit the application form before the last date. The application form will be available only in online mode. It is expected that the application form for both PhD and LLM programme will be available in the month of May 2022. The candidates who have cleared the UGC NET/JRF, SLET exam or M.Phil need not appear for the ILICAT 2022 exam for PhD admission. After clearing the ILICAT 2022 exam, the candidates need to participate in the Viva/ Interview in order to get a final admission.

The exam pattern will be different for LLM and PhD admission as given below:

- Duration of Exam: 2 hours and 30 minutes
- Medium of Exam: English only
- Part in Exam: 3 (Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3)
- Type of Questions: Both objective and subjective Type
- Maximum Marks: 180

ILICAT Syllabus 2022
The syllabus of ILICAT 2022 exam will be as follows:
For Ph.D Entrance Exam: Legal Research Methodology, Jurisprudence, Constitutional law, Indian Panel Code, Commercial Law (Contract, Partnership and sale of Goods) etc.
For LLM Exam: Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Law of Limitation, Public International Law, Law of Torts, Jurisprudence, Commercial Law (Contract and Specific Relief Act, Partnership and Sale of Goods Act) etc.
How to prepare for ILICAT 2022 exam?
Like any other entrance exam, the candidates need to prepare really well in order to clear ILICAT exam. Here are some tips for the candidates looking to appear for this exam.
- First of all, you need to go through the exam pattern and syllabus so that you can plan your studies in a better way.
- Make a well-structured timetable and study regularly as per your timetable.
- Improve your English Vocabulary if you are going to appear for the LLM entrance exam.
- Solve some previous year question paper and mock tests to improve your speed and performance
- Stay focused and away from unnecessary anxiety & pressure.
ILICAT Eligibility Criteria 2022
The candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria given below in order to appear for the ILICAT 2022 exam
For Ph.D. in Law
- The candidate must have LLM degree from a recognized university with at least 55% marks
For LLM (1-year degree programme)
- The candidate must have an LLB degree with at least 50% marks from a university recognized by the bar council of India.
- A candidate having a law degree from a foreign university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks can also apply.
- The candidate waiting for the qualifying exam result can also apply. However, such candidates need to submit the proof of clearing the qualifying exam before 15-09-2022.
ILICAT Application Form 2022
The ILICAT 2022 application form for both Ph.D and LLM exam will be available only in online mode through the official website i.e. www.Ili.ac.in.
- In the application form, the candidates have to provide all the required educational, personal and contact details.
- Please note the details entered in the application form should be authentic otherwise the application form will be rejected.
- Along with the details, the candidates have to upload the scanned copies of the following documents
- Passport size color photograph
- Category/ Caste/ PwD/ J&K Domicile Certificate (whatever applicable)
- Research Plan in 500 words (Only for Ph.D applicants)
- Signature
- After submitting the application form, the candidates have to pay the application fee.
- The candidate should take a printout of submitted application form and fee receipt for future reference.
Application fee
The ILICAT 2022 application fee will be as follows:
For Master of Laws (LLM) – Rs. 2500/-
For Ph.D in Law – Rs. 3000/-
Mode of payment
- The candidates can pay the application fee in online mode through credit card/ debit card/ wallet/ net banking.
ILICAT 2022 Admit Card
- The eligible candidate who will successfully submit the application form and fee will be able to download the admit card from the official website.
- In order to download the admit card, the candidates have to log into their account on the official website.
- After downloading, the candidate should take a printout of the admit card.
- No candidate will be allowed to appear for the exam without a valid admit card.
- The admit card is an important document which should be kept safe till the admission process gets completed.
ILICAT Result 2022
- The candidate who will appear in the ILICAT 2022 exam will be able to check the result from the official website.
- It is expected that the result of the exam will be declared around 15 days after the exam.
- The aspirants who will clear the ILICAT written exam will be called to participate in the viva-voce/ Interview/ presentation/ GD rounds as applicable.
- The schedule of subsequent rounds will be released after the declaration of result.
- The final admission will be granted on the basis of combined merit list of written exam and subsequent rounds.
