Selection of candidates for the post of probationary officers in different banks will be done on the basis of online test and interview. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will conduct national level exam for the selection purpose. The IBPS PO 2024 exam will be held in 2 stages- preliminary and main followed by an interview. Shortlisted candidates will be eligible for recruitment in the participating organizations. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their application form in online mode from 2nd August 2024.

IBPS PO 2024 Important Highlights

• The candidates with graduate degree in any stream can apply for the IBPS PO exam.
• Clearing all three rounds- pre, mains and interview is compulsory for the candidates in order to be eligible for recruitment.
• Process of application, conduction of exam, release of call letter, result, etc all will be done online.
• A valid email id and mobile number is mandatory for registration.

IBPS PO 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The following candidates are eligible to apply for IBPS PO exam:

Nationality:

• Citizen of India or Subject of Nepal or Subject of Bhutan or
• Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
• Person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam for permanently settling in India.

Educational qualification:

• Graduation degree or equivalent from a recognized university completed before the last date of application is required.

Age limit:

The minimum and maximum age of the candidates as on 01.08.2021 should be 20 and 30 years respectively.

IBPS PO Application Form

Candidates will be able to apply online for IBPS PO 2024. No other mode of application will be accepted. Before applying for the exam, the candidates must keep their scanned photograph, scanned signature and credit card/ debit card/ net banking details ready.

• The applicants will first have to register themselves providing the basic personal information such as name, email id, mobile number, etc.
• A provisional registration number and password will be generated using which the candidates can fill rest of the details in the application form.
• After filling the details in the form, the candidates will have to upload their photograph and signature.
• Duly-filled application form can then be submitted along with the requisite application fee.
• Printout of the confirmation page and e-receipt should be taken out and kept safe for future reference.

Application fee:

• Payment of application fee can be done using Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Card/ Mobile Wallet.
• The application fee will be Rs. 600/- for general/ OBC candidates and Rs. 100/- for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates.

For Preliminary exam

• Mode of exam: Online
• Exam duration: 1 hour
• Medium of test: English & Hindi (except for English language section)
• Number of questions: 100
• Total marks: 100
• Marking scheme: 1 mark will be given for each right answer
• Negative marking: For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted

For Main exam

• Exam duration: 3 hours 30 minutes

• Number of questions: 155 + 2
• Total marks: 200 + 25

IBPS PO Syllabus 2024

• Reasoning Section: Alphabet Test, Series Test, Analogy, Direction Sense, Sitting Arrangement, Figure Series, Word formation, etc
• Quantitative Aptitude: Number series, Profit and Loss, Simple and Compound Interest, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Mensuration, etc
• English Language: Spotting the errors, Jumbled Sentences, Phrase Substitution, Fill in the Blanks, Cloze Test, Idioms & Phrases, etc

IBPS PO 2024 Admit Card

• Admit card for IBPS PO will be released online around one week before the date of exam.
• Candidates will be able to download the admit card from the official IBPS website www.ibps.in.
• The admit card along with a valid identity proof (original and photocopy) must be carried to the exam center.
• Separate admit cards will be released for preliminary exam, main exam and interview.
• Details of venue, exam date and time will be mentioned on the admit card and the candidates must appear for the exam accordingly.
• Those without a valid admit card and id proof will be debarred from giving the examinations.

IBPS PO 2024 Result

• The result for each of the preliminary exam, main exam and interview will be declared in online mode.
• Those clearing preliminary exam will be eligible for main and those clearing both will be eligible for interview.
• Candidates clearing all the three rounds will be considered eligible for the post of probationary officer (PO).
• Scores obtained in the main exam will not be shared with the candidates before completion of interview.

IBPS PO Interview

• The candidates who obtain a minimum score in each test of main exam and also a minimum total score will be considered for interview.
• Based on the number of vacancies and cut-off, candidates will be shortlisted for interview round.
• Shortlisted candidates must report for interview as per the schedule intimated to them through interview call letter.
• Applicants must reach the interview location along with all the important documents in original and photocopy as well.

IBPS PO 2024 Provisional Allotment

• The candidates shortlisted after the interview will be provisionally allotted to any of the participating organizations.
• Allotment will be done on the basis of merit of the candidates and the choice provided by them.
• Once the provisional allotment is made, no request for change shall be entertained.
• Letter of appointment will be given by the participating organization subject to fulfilling eligibility of the candidates.
