CTET 2025: Application Form, Syllabus, Pattern, Eligibility, Exam Date

The Central Board of Secondary Education conducts CTET 2025 to determine the eligibility of the candidates aspiring to become a teacher in government schools. The full form of CTET is Central Teacher Eligibility Test. It is a national level teacher eligibility test which comprises of two papers (paper I and paper II). Paper I is conducted for primary teacher of class 1 to 5, while paper 2 is for elementary teacher of class 6 to 8.

CTET 2025 exam will be conducted in 20 languages and around 92 cities all over the country. It is being expected that CTET application form will be released in 1st week of August 2025.

CTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are different for Paper 1 (Primary Teacher) and Paper 2 (Secondary Teacher):

For becoming a Primary Teacher (Class 1st to 5th) – Paper 1

The candidate must fulfill any of the following eligibility criteria

  • Must have passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks followed by 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Should have cleared 10+2 with a minimum of 45% marks followed by 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
  • Must have passed class 12th with at least 50% marks and passed 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks followed by 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education)
  • Having a graduation degree and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education.

For becoming an Elementary Teacher (Class 6th to 8th) – Paper 2

The candidate must fulfill any of the following eligibility criteria

  • The candidate must have a graduation degree and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Must have a Graduation degree with 50% marks followed by 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  • Should have passed graduation with 45% marks and 1 year B.Ed in accordance with NCTE regulation.
  • Must have passed class 12th with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Passed 10+2 with 50% marks followed by 4 years B.A.Ed or B.SC.Ed,
  • Cleared graduation with 50% marks and 1 year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Important Note:

  1. The candidates appearing in the final year of qualifying exam can also apply.
  2. 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks will be given to the candidates from SC/ST category.

CTET 2025 Application Form

CTET 2025 application form will be available in online mode through the official website i.e. www.ctet.nic.in.

  • In order to apply, firstly, the candidates need to register on the official website by providing basic details such as name, date of birth and gender.
  • After successful registration, the registration number and password will be generated.
  • The candidates have to log in using the registration number and password.
  • Then, provide all the necessary details in the application form.
  • Along with the details, the candidates have to upload the scanned copies of passport size photograph and signature.
  • Finally, the candidates have to pay the application fee and submit the application form.

CTET 2025 exam will consist of the following two papers

  1. Paper 1: For the candidates want to be a teacher of class 1st to 5th.
  2. Paper 2: For the candidates want to be a teacher or class 5th to 8th.

Marking pattern: 1 mark will be given for every correct answer.

CTET 2025 Syllabus

The syllabus of CTET exam is quite big and different for Paper 1 and Paper 2. The syllabus for common subjects is given below:

Child Development and Pedagogy: Concept of development and its relationship with learning, Principles of the development of children, Multi-Dimensional Intelligence, Concepts of child-centered and progressive education, Addressing the needs of children with learning difficulties, ‘impairment’ etc., Addressing the Talented, Creative, Specially abled Learners, Cognition & Emotions etc.

Language: Reading unseen passages, Learning and acquisition, Principles of Language Teaching, Language Skills etc.

CTET 2025 Admit Card

  • The candidates will be able to download the admit card from the official website.
  • CTET 2025 exam schedule will be mentioned on the admit card.
  • The candidate should reach the exam center at least 90 minutes before the starting of the exam.
  • It is mandatory for every candidate to carry the hard copy of an admit card at the examination center.
  • Along with admit card, the candidates have to carry any one of the following documents at the exam center i.e. PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Passport, Ration Card, Voter ID Card, Driving License etc

CTET 2025 Result

  • It is expected that the authorities will declare the result within 6 weeks after the examination date.
  • The result will be declared on the official website.
  • The successful candidates will be awarded a CTET Certificate.
  • The CTET certificate 2025 will remain valid for 7 years from the date of result declaration.
