DCECE 2022 (Bihar Polytechnic 2022) will be organized by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) for admission in first-year diploma programme in engineering, medical and dental field. Through DCECE (LE), candidates can go for lateral entry admission into 2^nd year of these diploma certificate programmers offered by the colleges in the state of Bihar.

Interested candidates need to apply for Bihar Polytechnic 2022 by filling the online application form. They also need to verify their eligibility status before applying for the exam. The application form for DCECE will be made available in the month of March 2022. Bihar Polytechnic will be conducted in offline mode where the candidates will be given a question booklet and OMR answer sheet to mark the answers. The exam will be of 2 hours 15 minutes and there will be no penalty for marking the incorrect answer.

Bihar Polytechnic 2022 – Highlights

• The form for Bihar Polytechnic exam can only be filled online. No other mode shall be applicable for submission of the application form.
• Applicants should submit the form on time to avoid the last-minute rush or technical error.
• Through the exam, students can enroll in various courses such as- diploma programs in engineering, part-time 4 years polytechnic engineering, Para-medical dental  (Matric level)and Para-medical (intermediate level) offered by the colleges in Bihar.
• Admission in these programmes will only be given to the candidates who are either the domicile of Bihar or whose parents work for central/state government and are posted in Bihar. Applicants whose parents are refugees but now live in Bihar permanently can also apply.
• Selection of the candidates will be based on their performance in the exam. Only physically and mentally fit candidates will be considered for admission in said courses.

Bihar Polytechnic Application form 2022

To fill the application form, candidates are first required to register for the Bihar Polytechnic exam by providing their basic details such as name, phone number and email id. They should keep their documents along with the scanned copy of photograph and signature handy. The application form shall include  details such as name, religion, father’s name, gender, address, educational information to name a few.

Candidates need to make sure that the information provided by them is correct and matches their official records. The particulars in the application form should be entered with extreme care. However, if by mistake any details are entered incorrectly then candidates can change those details through the correction window. No further changes in the form will be allowed past the closing of the correction window. Applicants also must pay the requisite amount of application fee for the exam otherwise their form will end up getting rejected by the authority.

For lateral entry admission to 2^nd year: Applicants need to pay Rs. 2200/- as the application fee.

Payment mode: The application fee can be paid via NEFT Challan, credit card, debit card, and net banking

Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for DCECE i.e. Bihar Polytechnic 2022 are given below-

Domicile: Only Bihar domicile candidates can apply for the exam.

Age limit: For PPE, the age of the candidates should not be less than 19 years as on 1^st July 2022. For PMD, the age of the candidates must lie between 15 years and 30 years as on 31^st December 2022.

Educational qualification

• Polytechnic engineering (PE): A pass in class 10^th examination or its equivalent is required. Candidates should have scored minimum 35% marks in aggregate.
• Para-medical (PM): A pass in class 12^th examination with PCB/M subject group is required. Candidates should have scored at least 40% aggregate marks.
• Part-time polytechnic engineering (PPE): Must have passed class 10^th exam from a recognized board and should hold ITI experience of 2 years.
• Para-medical dental (PMD): Should have passed class 10^th exam or appearing in class 10^th with PCB and English as subjects.
• Lateral entry: A pass in class 12^th with Physics, Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with any one of the science (with mathematics), science with vocational, science with technical subjects is required. Candidates with ITI experience of 2 years after class 10^th can also apply.

Bihar Polytechnic Exam pattern 2022

The exam pattern of Bihar Polytechnic 2022 consists of-

• Exam mode: Pen and Paper-based mode
• Language: Hindi and English
• Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
• Type of questions: Multiple choice-based questions
• Total number of questions: 90 questions
• Total marks: 450 marks in DCECE and 600 marks in DCECE (LE)
• Marking scheme: In DCECE, 5 marks will be given for each correct answer. In DCECE (LE), 4 marks will be awarded for each correct response.
• Negative marking: No negative marking in DCECE, but for DCECE (LE) one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.

Syllabus

• The syllabus for Bihar polytechnic exam varies according to the course a candidate wishes to pursue.
• For courses, where the eligibility requirement is class 10^th, candidates need to prepare as per the curriculum prescribed for class 10^th.
• For admission in PM course, numerical ability, general science, Hindi, English and general knowledge are to be studied by the applicants and for PMD, candidates need to study PCMB subjects along with English, Hindi and GK.

Admit card

• Candidates can download the admit card of Bihar Polytechnic 2022 from the official website of the BCECEB.
• They need to retain a printout copy of the admit card for further use.
• The admit card will most likely be release two weeks prior to the commencement of the exam.
• Without the admit card, the entry to the exam hall will be denied to the candidates.
• Applicants are also required to bring a valid id proof to the exam venue along with the admit card failing which they won’t be allowed to appear in the exam.

Result and counselling

• The result of DCECE 2022 will be published in form of merit list on the official website.
• The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks scored by the candidates in Bihar Polytechnic exam.
• Selected candidates will be invited to attend the counselling procedure where a seat will be allotted to them based on different parameters.
• Candidates are required to bring their original documents at the time of counselling for verification.
• After the seat allotment is done, they need to report to the allotted college to finish the admission related formalities.
