BHU MCA 2022: Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Application Form

bhu admissionBanaras Hindu University (BHU) annually invites applicants for admission in its MCA program through PET entrance test. Interest candidates can apply for BHU MCA 2022 by filling the online application form for the same. The form will be released most probably in the 4th week of January 2022. Candidates should ensure their eligibility status before moving towards the application form.

The exam will be conducted in offline mode where candidates will be given a question booklet and OMR answer sheet to mark the answers. The total duration of the BHU MCA 2022 exam will be of 2 hours. There will also be a provision of negative marking. Admission to the MCA program will be given solely on the basis of the performance of the candidates in the PET exam.

The BHU MCA entrance exam pattern is provided below-

  • Exam Mode: Offline (Pen and Paper based)

  • Total marks: 450 marks
  • Total Number of Questions: 120 questions
  • Marking scheme: 3 marks will be awarded for marking the correct answer
  • Negative marking: 1 mark will be deducted for marking the incorrect answer

Syllabus

The syllabus for the BHU MCA 2022 exam will typically be based on the level of class 12th. Candidates need to maintain a strong grip on the topics given below to fetch good marks in the exam.

Mathematical Aptitude Test Areas (+2 Level): Basics of Calculus, Logarithms, Matrices and Determinants,  Inequalities, Permutation and Combination,  Progressions, Binomial Expansion, Complex Arithmetic, Equations (up to degree 2), 2-D Coordinate Geometry, Function and Relation, Basic Concepts of Probability.

Analytical and Logical Reasoning: Graphical/Data interpretation, Direction sense, Sitting arrangement, Number series, Syllogism, Assertion and statement, Blood relations, Puzzles, Analogy and Classification, Odd-one out etc.

Preparation Tips for BHU MCA

Here are some useful preparation tips for the candidates with the help of which they can score good marks in the entrance exam-

  • Stick to a practical timetable. The time table should be made keeping in mind the time you can devote to the subjects mentioned in the syllabus.
  • Practice previous year papers to improve your performance.
  • Maintain the consistency and momentum of studies. Never procrastinate and try to finish a topic on the same day itself as per the timetable.
  • Avoid using social media or mobile phones during studies.
  • Prepare short notes for mathematical formula and tricks so that you can save some time.
  • Don’t forget to do revision of the topics you’ve studied for the exam.

Application Form for BHU MCA 2022

The application form for BHU MCA exam through PET will be made available on the official entrance test portal of the University i.e. www.bhuonline.in. Candidates can fill the form only via online mode. They first need to register themselves using their email id, mobile number and other relevant details. One the registration is done, they need to login into the portal to fill the application form.

The application form will consist of details like name of the candidate, gender, religion, educational background, etc. They also need to upload the scanned photograph and signature in JPEG format. The particulars in the form should be entered carefully as once the form is submitted successfully, no changes in the form will be allowed. Applicants will also be required to pay the necessary amount of application fee for the exam otherwise their applications will be rejected by the authority.

Application fee: Candidates need to pay Rs. 500/- towards the application fee for the exam. While those belonging to the SC/ST/PC category need to pay Rs. 250/- for the same.

Mode of payment: The payment can be done via HDFC bank Challan or through credit card/debit card and net banking.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for BHU MCA 2022 exam is as follows-

Qualifying Examination: Candidates should have completed graduation (as per 10+2+3 pattern) in any discipline with mathematics as a compulsory subject either at 10+2 level or at bachelor’s level. They should also have scored minimum 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

Note:

  • Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for the exam.
  • However, such candidates will be required to produce the original mark sheet of the qualifying examination at the time of counselling to get admission in MCA course offered by BHU.

Admit Card

  • The admit card for PET exam can be download by visiting the official web portal of the BHU.
  • Candidates can download their admit card by entering their roll number in admit card download link available on the website.
  • They need to keep a printout copy of the hall ticket and preserve it till the admission process is finished.
  • Candidates must bring the hall ticket to the exam venue or else they won’t be permitted to take the test.
  • Any irregularities in the admit card should be communicated to the authority immediately on time.

Result and Counselling

  • In order to check the result of BHU MCA 2022 entrance test, candidates need to login into the official website of the University.
  • The authority will also inform the candidates about their result through their email or SMS.
  • A merit list will be prepared by the authority to shortlist the candidates for MCA program.
  • Candidates will be selected based on the marks obtained by them in PET entrance exam.
  • The shortlisted candidates will then undergo the counselling procedure where a seat will be allotted to them as per their merit rank.
