BHU Admission 2021: Application Form, Date, Eligibility Criteria

BHU 2021: Banaras Hindu University will be conducting entrance exams for admission into its undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate courses. For UG courses like BA, B.Com, B.Sc, BPA, BFA, etc UET will be conducted. For PG courses like MA, MBA, M.Sc, LLM, etc PET will be conducted. Similarly for admission into Ph.D and M.Phil courses, RET will be conducted. The interested candidates who also fulfill the eligibility of the course they wish to pursue can apply for BHU Admission 2021. The application form for the same will be released in online mode as per the specified schedule.

Tips for preparation

Here are given some basic preparation tips that can be followed by candidates preparing for their entrance test (UET, PET and RET as well):

  • Get total familiarity with the pattern and syllabus of the test you are going to appear for.
  • Collect all study material at one place to avoid wasting time in searching here and there for study material.
  • All the study material should always be collected from authentic sources. Internet is full of study material, but you need to refer only to the right source.
  • Class notes are very important and the most reliable source of study material.
  • Practice and revision, both should be done on a regular basis.
  • Make short notes of important topics so that you could go easily through them during revision.

BHU 2021 Application Form

To submit the application form, the candidates will have to visit the entrance test portal www.bhuonline.in created by the university. The link to this portal will also be made available on the official website www.bhu.ac.in.

  • Candidates can fill the application form by providing information such as name, gender, date of birth, category, course applying for, exam center choice, details related to qualifying exam, etc.
  • Scanned copies of signature and photograph will also be uploaded in the application form.
  • Care must be taken to enter all the detail correctly and truly in the application form or else it will be rejected.
  • Duly filled application form can then be submitted along with the prescribed application fee before the last date.
  • A printout of the application must be kept by the candidates for future use.
  • The candidates can apply for more than one course if they wish by submitting subsequent application forms.

Application fee:

  • The application fee payment can be done through credit card/ debit card or through Challan in any branch of HDFC Bank.
  • Fee once submitted will neither be refunded no transferred under any circumstances.

Note: The application fee for the additional courses for which the candidates apply will be reduced to Rs. 200/- (Rs. 100/- for SC/ ST/ PC candidates).

Eligibility Criteria

The course-wise eligibility criteria for BHU Admission 2021 are given below:

For UG courses:

  • BA (Hons): The candidates should have passed class 12th or equivalent exam with 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Com (Hons): A pass in class 12th or equivalent exam with Commerce/ Economics/ Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Finance/ Financial Market Management/ Vocational courses (related to Commerce) and securing at least 50% marks in aggregate and pass in the concerned subject is required.
  • Sc (Hons) Mathematics Group: Those who have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of Physics, Mathematics plus and Chemistry/ Statistics/ Geology/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Geography and have also passed in each of the concerned subjects can apply.

For PG courses:

  • MA in Linguistics: Candidates with graduation scoring 50% marks in aggregate of all subjects studied at Graduation Level except those subjects where only pass marks are required can apply.
  • Com: Those with B.Com (Hons)/ B.Com/ B.Com (Hons)-FMM securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all subjects studies at B.Com level except those subjects where only pass marks are required are eligible.
  • Sc (Tech.) in Geophysics: The candidates should have done B.Sc (Hons)/ B.Sc securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Science subjects.

For Ph.D/ M.Phil courses:

  • Phil in Faculty of Social Sciences: Post graduate degree in any disciplines of Social Sciences/ Humanities with minimum 55% marks at qualifying examination is required.
  • Integrated M.Phil-Ph.D in Faculty of Environment and Sustainable Development: Master’s degree in Environmental Science or equivalent or Master’s degree in any one of the subjects in the environment related areas of OR MA in Sociology/ Rural Development/ LLM with major/specialization in Environmental OR BE/ B.Tech in any branch with at least 55% in the aggregate is required.

Admit Card

  • The admit card for the entrance exam will be released around one prior to the exam.
  • An SMS/ email regarding the same will be sent to the applicants on their registered mail id and contact number.
  • The candidate must carry their admit card to the exam center or else they will not be allowed to appear for the test.
  • Those who are not able to download their admit card 3 days before the exam should immediately contact the Office of the Controller of Examinations.
  • Admit card must be preserved till admission process is over.

Result

  • The results of BHU entrance tests will be declared online on the entrance test portal.
  • Overall and category-wise rank and marks scored by the candidates will be sent to the registered phone number/ email id.
  • Candidates who score marks more than the specified cut-off will be included in the merit list.
  • The candidates whose names appear in the merit list will be shortlisted for counseling.
