AFMC MBBS 2022: Admission, Application Form, Eligibility Criteria

The Armed Force Medical College (AFMC), Pune will soon be inviting applications for admission to the MBBS course offered by it.  Candidates must apply for NEET UG exam to be eligible for admission in AFMC. They need to register themselves on DGHS website and apply for AFMC MBBS 2022. The authorities will shortlist the candidates for ToELR test followed by an interview. After qualifying the test, a final merit list will be prepared. Applicants must ensure their eligibility status before registering for admission in AFMC.

AFMC MBBS 2022 –  Highlights

  • The registration form for admission in AFMC MBBS can only be filled via online mode. Applicants need to register themselves on the official website of DGHS.
  • Candidates will undergo medical inspection conducted by a medical officer to rule out any deformities/injury that might have occurred after the medical exam.
  • Those selected as medical cadets for imparting training at the AFMC, Pune with liability to get commissioned in the armed forces medical services as medical officers will also be functioning as officers of the Indian armed forces.
  • The shortlisted candidates will be called for test of English language, comprehension, logic and reasoning (ToELR), psychological assessment test (PAT), interview and medical examination.
  • At the time of admission, parents or guardians of the candidates will have to sign a bond of Rs. 29 lakhs. In case, the candidate withdraw admission within 7 days, he/she will be liable to pay the stated bond.

Exam pattern of ToELR

The exam pattern for screening test is as follows-

  • Exam mode: Computer-based test
  • Duration: 30 minutes
  • Language: English only
  • Type of questions: objective type
  • Total number of questions: 40 questions
  • Marking scheme: 2 marks will be awarded for each correct answer
  • Negative marking:5 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

AFMC MBBS Application form 2022

In order to apply for admission, candidates are required to register themselves on the website of DGHS. DGHS will conduct the counselling where candidates can apply for AFMC. The details in the registration form should be entered carefully as once the form is submitted, no changes in the particulars will be permitted. If at any stage the information given by the candidates is found to be misleading, then they will be disqualified from taking admission in the AFMC. Registration form should be submitted on or before the due date specified by the authority to avoid rejection of the application. It is mandatory for the candidates to pay the necessary application form as stated by the authority.

Application fee

Candidates need to pay Rs. 250/- as the application fee for admission. The payment can be made through SBI bank Challan.

AFMC MBBS 2022- Eligibility criteria

Applicants can check their application status from the information provided below-

  • Nationality: Only Indian citizens can apply for AFMC. Foreign nationals can apply only if they have acquired Indian citizenship or certificate of eligibility from Ministry of Home Affairs.
  • Marital status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible for admission in AFMC, Pune. Marriage during the course is strictly prohibited.
  • Age criteria: Candidates age should lie between 17 years and 24 years as on 31st December 2022.
  • Qualifying examination: Candidates should have passed class 12th exam or its equivalent with PCB and English as subjects at +2 level from a recognized board. They should have scored minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

Note: Those hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and J & K are also eligible to apply for admission to AFMC.

Result

  • The result of AFMC MBBS 2022 can be checked by visiting the official website of AFMC.
  • The authority will publish the final merit list of the selected candidates on its official website.
  • Separate merit list will be prepared by the authority for male and female candidates.
  • Admission will be subjected to the final merit position of the candidates. Remaining candidates will be put on the waiting list.

Selection procedure

To select the candidates for admission, applicants need to possess a valid NEET score. Shortlisting of the candidates will solely be done on the basis of NEET score obtained by them. The authority will then prepare a merit list to invite the selected candidates for screening test and interview. The marks obtained in ToELR will be added to NEET score (max of 720) to get a score out of 800. This will be divided by 4 to get the written examination score out of 200. The interview will consist of 50 marks. The final merit will be based on the Final score thus obtained (Written examination score + Interview marks). After that, candidates are required to report to the college on a given date and time to complete admission related formalities.
