Eligibility criteria

  • Interested applicant should have done Bachelor’s degree B.E. / B. Tech from a recognized university with no less than 50% marks (45% marks in case of applicants from reserved category).
  • It is must for applicants to appear for TANCET exam organized by Anna University.
  • GATE qualified candidates will be exempted from TANCET exam.

Anna University M.Tech/ M.E Admission 2022 Application Form: How to apply?

Interested and eligible candidate can apply online as well as offline for admission to Anna University M.Tech/ M.E courses. Below we’ve explained both the methods.

Online Application:

  • For online application, candidates have to visit the official website of Anna University at https://www.annauniv.edu
  • Thereafter, click on TANCET link.
  • Complete the registration process by entering some basic details.
  • On successful registration a unique registration number and password will be issued to the candidates.
  • Fill in the required details in the form correctly and carefully.
  • Candidates have to upload a scanned copy of photograph and signature as per prescribed format.
  • Take the printout of the Application Form after submission for further use.
  • Send the hard copy of duly filled application form along with the required documents and the Demand Draft via post.

Offline Method:

  • In case of offline application, candidates need to collect the Application form from the specified Coordinating Centres by submitting a copy of the important documents.
  • Candidates have to pay applicable TANCET fee via in cash or Demand Draft.
  • On the successful registration, applicants will be issued TANCET admit card.

Application fee:

Candidates have to pay Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/SCA/ST category) as necessary fee via in person or Demand Draft drawn in favour of ‘The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University,’ payable at Chennai.

TANCET Examination pattern

The TANCET exam will consist of three parts i.e. Part I, II, & III in which Part I & II is mandatory and Part III as per the discipline selected by the applicants while filling the TANCET Application Form. The Part I & II of the exam will contain 30 questions with 1 mark for each right answer while part III include 40 Questions in the selected field with 1 mark for each right answer. There will be negative marking of 1/3 for each wrong response given by candidate.

Selection Process

Candidates having a valid TANCET Score/GATE score are selected for admission to M. Tech/M.E courses. A separate merit list for admission will be prepared based on the marks scored by the candidate in the TANCET exam and the GATE score.
